That was probably one of the top 5 funniest comments I've read here lol

But as far as Chi Town goes, it's a fun ass city. No matter what you do, you'll have fun.

I was in Chicag-ho a couple years back, but didn't get to do much at the time. I will enjoy some pizza though, fo sho. This time I'll look to enjoy it a bit more.

Are you looking to get drunk, eat good food, see events, go sightseeing, all of the above, none of the above? For getting robbed/shanked, I suggest you go hang out in Englewood for a night.

Wrigley is expensive as hell and you are less likely to get stabbed. To substantially increase your chances of getting stabbed, attend the Sox game in a t-shirt with a Confederate Flag.
If you want a 100% guaranteed chance of getting stabbed, wear the above mentioned t-shirt to Cabrini Green area of Chicago. Maybe even shout out how much you dislike black people.

I'd say the chances of being stabbed become lower, the farther North you are. Museum of Science and Industry is cool. Pizza from Giordano's is a must.

US Cellular isn't that bad if you just go to the game and leave (i.e., don't go trolling around the neighborhood). Although I wouldn't suggest wearing a confederate flag t-shirt there :)

Last time I went to Chicago the Cubs weren't in town so we caught a Sox game. Never once did we feel unsafe so I'm not sure if it will be good enough for you. I bet the confederate flag t shirt idea would work, though.

As for hotels, we always end up staying downtown. We go through hotwire and usually get a sweet deal.

I am thinking of going up in April when the Reds are in town. I believe it is the weekend of the 20th.

Cabrini Green is re-gentrified now. It's not that bad of an area anymore. They pushed all the residents of the public housing there down south (mostly to Englewood/West Englewood, but some other outlying areas also). Be careful about the North/South distinction as well. You can go wander around UofC on the South Side and be totally safe, and you can end up along Western Ave in Uptown on the North Side, or Logan Square, and get stabbed. Basically, be knowledgeable about where you're going and don't be dumb if you find yourself in a neighborhood that's not to your liking.

US Cellular isnt nearly as bad as Comiskey was apparently back in the day when my grandpa refused to take my dad.

I've been to both, and just prefer the atmosphere at Wrigley even though I'm a Sox fan.

Yeah, the atmosphere at Wrigley is definitely better. US Cellular is a much nicer park.

Yea yea, just me being stupid. I can remember just like a block or two from the old CG, you were in a hip trendy area. But it was like ya crossed the tracks and boom....lock your doors.

Didn't they tear down all the towers? I admit ya caught me. Been a while since I've been to Chi-town.

They did tear down all the towers, the last one came down last March of last year. I don't think it's a great area (not like the Mag Mile or anything), but it's definitely not what it once was.
