Key West is the bomb and my girl's mom lives there so we have a house at our disposal anytime which saves a ton $$ however I still manage to spend a ton everytime I'm there! You are correct about how hot it is there in mid summer!!LJ;1100633 wrote:I loved Key West
It's so fucking hot and humid there in July that the air is like soup though.

Went on a couple of vacations to Rodanthe on the Outer Banks back in the eighties with a buddies family. Not much there at the time, but a great place to relax, surf fish, and fish from the pier. Gotta be careful though as with all oceans, but the area is known as the graveyard of the Atlantic due to the amount of shipwrecks. The Northern and Southern waters evidently "meet" there to create more rip-tides/currents than normal.
Both trips had to drink bottled water... long before water was sold much. Used gallon jugs to use for water to drink/ brush teeth, etc. Hurricanes the previous years had disrupted the potable water on the outer banks.
Enjoy!

Hawaii for a bit the day after finals ends. Then probably out to California a few weeks after I get home to drive the car we're shipping back from Hawaii back home. I'll probably turn that into a "tour the northwest" trip.

No, never been there for that. But I won't mind that.justincredible;1100548 wrote:Have you been to Taste of Chicago before? My wife and I were in Chicago while it was going on last year (for other reasons) and it was a zoo.
I don't like a lot of people, but I don't plan on doing any driving. We can catch a train there from Toledo for pretty cheap. I hope to possibly stay with another friend. It should be alright. My best friend has never been to Chicago, so we were just looking for what may be a decent trip to take. We'll probably try to catch a Chicago Fire game as well -- if it falls at the right time.
I just want Chicago-style pizza and hotdogs!

8 nights in Europe with the wife in April/May, 4 in London and then 4 in Paris. Probably a couple long weekends in the summer/fall.

Oh it is. Most people are not very happy with the Frozen Four being in Tampa. But hey I'll enjoy my trip to Florida to watch some College Hockey.

New York City for four days, we couldn't budget the direct flight to Newark so its at the back of the bus from Sing to Frankfurt to JFK, at least its an A380. Then to Charlottesville/Richmond for two weeks with a 2 or 3 day trip to Ohio to see the parental units. Then back to the coach seating for another wonderful 20 hour flight via JFK to Frankfurt to Sing. Have 3 trips to Australia planned this year but that doesn't count since we have to work.
