I will say Rogers played much better against Central, and if they played that same game against a full SJJ team they could have beat them. Kynard was really good. I assume he is one of the D1, players. Who is the second, #32? I was pretty impressed with his game.

Oops, should have read ahead, vball already mentioned Gardner.

No question they could have. But a healthy SJJ only beat them by 6 the first time around. In a much bigger gym, where Rogers press and speed can by utilized a lot more (UT vs a HS gym) there is no guarantee Rogers losses. Ive said all along they didnt get credit because of the Catholic schools in Toledo. But they are damn good and the CL was MUCH better than people gave credit for. I am not one bit surprised they are in Regionals.

Also, Tribune Daily or Devonte Pratt is probably #32. But not sure which. But as VBall said, Kynard and Clemmye Owens are both going to Bethum-Cookman.

Yeah SJJ was definitely gassed in the 4th quarter. Glover played horrible in the second half as he was the primary ball handler bringing the ball up the court against pressure all game. I don't think he scored and I do know he threw 3 passes into the stands trying to break the press. Loving missed 3 or 4 FTs when the game was still in doubt that probably could have been attributed to fatigue as well. They didn't really have a second scorer without Gardner, although the kid that started in his place hit some shots. He just wasn't physically capable of playing any kind of defense against Rogers' athletic guards.

Rogers beat Anthony Wayne (continuing our convo from earlier). What a great run. It was actually closer than I expected. Figured theyd beat AW by close to 15.

Obviously my knowledge of Loving is limited, but do you think he can get any PT next year except garbage time? Didn't know if there's a chance he can come in and at least be what Ross has been this year or more consistent than him.

Yes, he can get PT. But I see him more of a top 50 player than a top 25, 5* guy. So, I dont expect the immediate impact of say, a top 15 player. He wont be as good as recent 5* guys OSU has had immediately. At least, imo.

That said, Ive seen ALL these kids for 4 (some 6 if you count middle school) years, so while I have a great knowledge on them, I am probably also a lot more harsh on grading their performances...

That's kind of what I was expecting. My hope for him was/is a maybe 10-15 minute a game guy who can come in and get points. I figure next year Craft will get 35 min a game, Scott 30, and Thompson and Smith around 25-30 a game, and who knows with Ross, so there won't be a ton of PT to go around, but if he can do 8-10 minutes a game and score that would be great.

Pretty crazy for Toledo area. You could arguably say the top 8 players in the state are from here.

EDIT: At least as far as SRs go.

North Carolina guys --

Any news on Wiggins? Did he make any comments about his visit/thoughts on the Carolina program? I imagine despite Duke winning that he enjoyed the experience of the Dean Dome, the town, etc. Say what you want as a Duke fan, but Chapel Hill is a superb college town. I enjoy it a lot, especially when I've been there during the warmer months.

While Wiggins to UNC is possible, I can't imagine (and it showed on the TV) that the game in Chapel Hill had any influence on his decision.

Some swear UK. Some swear KU. There might actually be some drama when he announces on ESPN. The last few, James Young and the Harrison's, it was pretty much locked for the Cats (except those who really thought the twins might pick Maryland).

Thanks. I'm thinking it's gonna be Kentucky, but I guess I wouldn't be surprised if it's Kansas.

Personally, I hope he stays clear of the Eastern Time Zone. Go to Kansas, son.
