Just a thought, instead of banning people outright why not just ban someone to the basement? If they are being punished for being dicks just let them post in the one spot reserved for being a dick.

Thoughts?

Meh. I mean I think its good for ppl who decide to keep trolling threads for no reason, but I see no reason yo stop banning.

Limiting "banned" members to just one forum still allows for forum activity, which is good.

I think fixing the connection and server issues would help more than anything.

I haven't had any issues in a while. I was getting the "click a link, nothing, click again" issue last week but haven't experienced it this week. Maybe PHX has faster internet than Ohio.

This will only work if:

1. Basement bans are permanent, or extremely long term.
2. We are able to banish to the basement and not have to wait on you like we do now.

I'm saying that it is hard for me to trouble shoot when I don't experience the same issues on any of my devices. On any network that I use. Other than the sometimes slow load times.

One problem with banning to the basement is you're the only person that can do that Justin. Or at leasthe last time I checked I believe even supermods can't do it. So it increases your workload.

The basement is a joke.

There is no point in banning people if you still allow them to post.

Like I said before. It's like putting your kid in timeout and then giving them an ice cream cone.

But if you're busy/out of town/feeling lazy, we're liable to just outright ban out of immediate necessity, assuming we would never have the ability to basement ban. Then you'll have to unban and re-basement ban them. Don't know if you view that as problematic or not.
