Watch for Carolina this year. I see a breakout team coming our way.

Carolina wont be any better this year than last. Maybe worse. Wasn't a fan of their draft, and their core on offense is another year older.

This was from a charity softball game but we may have a new "worst fan" nominee...

Thinking about this, I think that Stinko will land in either Miami or Baltimore.

Looking forward to the first missed call that cost a team a game. They will be hiring older retired officials and guys from the D3 level that have no chance of moving up. Most all D1 conferences have an affilition with current and retired NFL officials, so they are not going to be crossing the line.

So...in an interesting piece of strategery, the Giants waived injured TE Jake Ballard with the intent of resigning him and putting him on injured reserve. This "waived injured" strategy is pretty common in the NFL and 99.999% or the time the guy clears waivers and returns to his team because other teams don't want to pay the full contract for a guy to take a roster spot and be on IR all year. Not the Patriots.

Old Belichick claimed Ballard off waivers and the Pats will pay him $540,000 to sit out the year. Whether this was sour grapes/payback for the Super Bowl or just intelligent thinking by the Hoodie, who knows?

I've only seen this one other time when the Browns tried to sneak Don Carey through "injured/waivers" and the Jags claimed him. It's generally an unwritten rule/gentleman's agreement that you don't claim these guys.

I will say that if Ballard comes back healthy the Pats could have a pretty nast 31 Package (Gronk, Hernandez & Ballard on the field at the same time).

How many goddamn tight ends do they need? Seriously. Didn't he blow out his knee in the SB? Waste of money

Belichick loves him some tight ends and, yes, he did blow out his knee in the SB. That's why it comes as a bit of a surprise that they signed him. He will sit this year, take up a roster spot and still get paid $540k.

Sounds like they are paying him 540k to try and pitch their franchise to him for a whole year. Bitch move, but I wouldn't put anything passed Belichick.
