Anyone a wine snob? I am not. However I do enjoy a bottle of red wine a couple times a month. Usually Cabernet, Pinot Noir or Chianti.
Tonight I am drinking this. Not bad but very subtle compared to other cabernets.

Big time red fan! Chianti, Malbecs, Cabs. Like em dry not sweet. Picked up a nice vintage Malbec last weekend.

Big wine fan. The gf works at one of the premier wine/cheese shops in Chicago so we usually get good stuff. Highly recommend pinot noirs from the Willamette Valley, specifically I can think of Elk Cove.

I am a snob in the fact that I really only casually drink wine from the Eastern Lake Erie region. My favorites are the Marquette and the Noiret from Winery of Ellicotville.

Did a tour and tasting up around Niagara-on-the-Lake last summer, now all I like is their wines. I recommend Hillebrand Estates if you're ever up there.
Their ice wines are to die for as well.

Speaking of northern wines, I'm interested to see what comes out of Michigan in the next 10-15 years. They're starting to cultivate new varieties for the area, get the vines going. Could be some surprises (in a good way).

That said, we keep a jug or two of Carlo Rossi chianti around the house for everyday consumption - even the French ain't guzzling a 1945 Mouton-Rothschild Pauillac with their meat loaf on Tuesday nights.
And I absolutely loved Sun Country Strawberry Coolers..

BTW, for those who do like Ice wine, the wineries up in Ashtabula, Geauga, and Lake counties have an Ice Wine Festival the first 3 Saturdays in March from 12-5.

Join Debonné Vineyards, Ferrante Winery & Ristorante, Grand River Cellars Winery and Restaurant, Laurello Vineyards & St. Joseph Vineyards for Ohio’s 9th Annual Ice Wine Festival, a progressive tasting of the ice wine produced in the Grand River Valley. My wife and I went to the Caduceus Cellars tasting room in Jerome, AZ last night. It is the winery owned by Maynard James Keenan. Everything we tried was fantastic, we ended up shipping two bottles back to Ohio.

The only wine I'd say I enjoy/know anymore about compared to other is Malbec. Outside of that I'm not much of a wine fan, IMO they always taste better the more glasses you have.
