Apothic Red. It's usually around $12 at our Kroger.Fred Flintstone;1094798 wrote:Can any of you red wine drinkers recommend a $10-$20 red for me to try.

Also a good point. Most bars aren't carrying good wine and the prices are high.gorocks99;1094539 wrote:Because it's easier to hold a beer bottle or pint glass than a wine glass in a crowded environment?
Also, for me personally, at a bar the prices of wine are marked up something fierce for the quality of wine you can get. You can get a Delirium Tremens (rated one of the best beers in the world) for <$10 most places. You're lucky to get a middle-of-the-road California chardonnay for $10 (when buying the same bottle at a store would cost you $15).

On the upper end Kendall-Jackson Pinot Noir. It's around the $20.00 mark, but a nice Pinot.Fred Flintstone;1094798 wrote:Can any of you red wine drinkers recommend a $10-$20 red for me to try.

Port Wine does that to me and makes my heart race. (But I don't get short of breath like ETB)

Good call on the Apothic. Went to the Jungle today and saw this display.

Then went further into the Beer/Wine department and they were giving out samples of the Apothic Red and White. Very Decent wine at a low price. We bought a bottle of each. The Red is a nice little blend mainly of Zinfandel, which I'm not really fond of, but I think it's the Syrah in it that makes me like it more. Pretty light without a lot of tannins. We will drink the Red tonight with The Wife's Homemade Irish Stew....I'll drink the White tomorrow while The Wife is at work..Haha

I thought the Yuengling Bock was alright and I kind of enjoyed the Conway's Irish Ale.

Burgenlander Rot tonight, an Austrian red. Really good, balanced, medium-bodied.

I'm drinking some Snapdragon cabernet. It was $5 at Giant Eagle. Not bad, have had better cheap cabs.

Hayman & Hill 2007 Cabernet -- very good; and a nice surprise the Root:1 Cabernet from Chile 2010 -- darn nice.

Split a couple bottles of Elk Cove Pinot Noir Rose this weekend with some chevre. That's a kick-ass pairing.
