Poll idea stolen from the Dan Patrick show.

NHL, because even the benchwarmers for the team get some ice time. Other sports you're probably sitting 9 out of 10 games, or more. Unless benchwamer means "in the minors" in which case, I'd go NBA.

NBA

All the other sports are outside (or sitting in an Ice Rink). If i"m going to be sitting there doing nothing, might as well be comfortable.

NBA has the highest 1yr+ minimum salary, so I will go with that

MLB you really don't have to do anything in baseball if you get into a game. Plus you can drink and play video games.

I didn't know this, now that I do, I choose the NBA as well. Solid way to spend the winter.

MLB, easily.

Travel is nicer (with 3-4 day stops and not just overnighters). Laid back, even in practice and spring training. Get to have a game every day and be outdoors all the time. Its in the summer, so everyone is inherently ina better mood all the time lol. You will get in the game in late innings in the NL, and in the AL typically play (start) every 5-6 games. Plus, guaranteed contracts, unlike many other sports.

I think the best would be golf, cause you travels the whole country/world and are there for an entire week. So travel isnt such a bear your body. But that isnt a benchwarmer sport. Youd have to actually be good enough to play, and to make money, good enough to make cuts.

I'm going with MLB under the assumption that I am literally a bench warmer who never plays.

1. Longest season
2. Get to be in various cities for multiple days at a time
3. Get to be outside in the summer (for the most part)
4. Get to pie people giving post game interviews
5. Get to sit down and chew tobacco

Sounds good to me.

Not sure how a long season benefits you if you're a benchwarmer. IF you're playing and its fun sure it wouldnt be bad to have a long long season. But if I'm sitting on my ass waiting for the season to be over to collect a paycheck, the last thing I want is a drawn out season

Season are all the same anyway. If your a benchwarmer though, wouldnt you want to be at a game versus practice/walkthrough/whatever. Baseball is the most games, but the season cant be that much longer.

Id rather get the practice outta the way and have the rest of the day to do what I please honestly. Not have to show up at the ball park hours before a game and end up staying an hr or so afterwards and wastin my whole day pretty much

I enjoy being at the ball park so I'd like it.

I guess a big part of it would be how strict the definition of benchwarmer is. Like, if you're the 12th man on the average NBA team, you'll have a never-ending series of box scores with "DNP: Coach's Decision" next to your name unless injuries dictate you have to get in or your team is on one side of a lot of lopsided scores. In baseball, you'd be a pinch-hitter or a left-handed-one-out-guy, but you'd be likely to get into games on a somewhat regular basis. The only way a baseball team wastes a roster spot on a pure benchwarmer is if they got him in the Rule 5 draft and want to keep him in the system, so they hide him as much as possible (like, if he's a pitcher, he'd be the guy who takes the mound in the 7th inning of a 14-1 game).

NFL maybe. But dont NHL and NBA players usually fly on their off days? I know if its a shorter trip they will go after the game. I guess this season maybe seems that way. Usually I guess they have 2 days off a few times.

Either way, as has been said. I enjoy being outside during the summer. So I wouldnt mind that. Im more of a night guy who sleeps till noon anyway lol. Id like to go party till 3am after a game!

I voted for MLB. Seems like the easiest practices, most benefits, etc.

MLB for the easier (less physically demanding)/lack of practices.

NHL because you get some ice time every night but not a whole lot so you really won't be as exhausted as say others who are getting close to 20 minutes a game. Also those guys seem to be in the best shape when they get older too as far as health probs go and I'd rather tell girls I'm a hockey player than some pussy who shoots a ball at a hoop
