11W sums up my feelings about Buford completely

His notorious, forced performances in high-profile losses demonstrate how important he is - or believes he should be - to the team: If Buford plays even slightly below average against Sienna, Tennessee or Kentucky the Buckeyes advance another round in each of the past three tournaments.
Instead Buford has been a serial violator of continuously picking at a throbbing pimple instead of just leaving it alone. It isn't that he just has bad shooting games at inopportune times; it's the way that he takes a cold shooting streak, super-sizes it and unnecessarily transforms it into a defining characteristic of his game.

Buckeye fans not only love their senior swingman, they want to love him more. That's because nobody hates who Buford actually is. Sometimes they just hate who he is not.

Well, we can agree to disagree. Again, we don't know or see whats going on in practice. Don't you think Matta wants to win? If Ross was ready, and as good as some think, I have no doubt Matta wouild play him. Its not like other freshman during Matta tenure haven't played. lol The guy plays freshman who are capable of playing, and is now. The rap on Ross comnig out of HS was his effort. There was a reason he went from #1 recruit in country as a soph to like 30-40. Maybe thats whats going on in practice as well. Who knows.

Well, it's fairly obvious that a lot of fucking around has been going on in practice. So shaking it up a bit should be part of the solution, the only thing debatable is who and for how long.

I'm usually supportive of Matta's decisions, but the way this team has regressed, lost chemistry or whatever really pisses me off.

I knew they wouldn't be as good as last year, but I did not expect them to be playing like balls at the end of February. There is still a decent amount of time to right the ship for a decent run, but I just don't see it happening.

Except Matta did say that the 5 freshman show up for practice everyday, so I don't think it's an effort thing.

Ya never know. As I stated, UK made final four with 8 losses last year. Florida won a title losing 3 of final 5 games of regular season. It can happen. This team has the talent to do it. They showed early they are capable of playing/beating anyone. And even in spite of losing 6, there were no blowouts. They had a chance in all the losses. So its not like they have been manhandled even when not playing well. So who knows. I think we'll find out what they are made of in these final couple of games away from home.

I realize the effort is there to start another pissing match w/cbf, but I'd lay off the stomping noise. It didn't happen without Sully at home I don't really see a stomping happening neutral with him.

Oh they'd stomp OSU right now. This has nothing to do w/ cbf, other than the fact he wants to play KU in the tourney for whatever reason.

The reason is because Kansas wasn't even playing that great back when they played Ohio State...now they are playing 1000x better. OSU isn't exactly lighting the world on fire either.

This. Nobody has any idea who would do what to whom come tournament time. OSU needs to take care of business their next two games, hopefully get a #2 seed in the tourney, get a favorable draw, and go from there.

Yeah. To be honest, after the way things have gone the last couple weeks, how OSU would fare against Kansas and other top national teams really isn't on my radar. I just want them to look good these next two games and not collapse on the road against (a) a team they easily beat earlier who is fighting for their postseason lives and very dangerous right now and (b) a team that's already beaten them at their place.

Right now, the ship is kind of leaky. Ever since they beat Wisconsin on the road and finally got rid of the "beat a good team on the road" syndrome, things have really gone south. Three losses (two at home) and barely beating Purdue (good, but not world-beating) at home. Along with big wins (while Minn was 10 points, they led by a lot more in the second half before a late comeback that never truly got scary) against two teams that really have faltered big-time down the stretch.

Body of work for the season, they're a 2-3 seed. Based on the last couple weeks, they're playing like a 7-8. Right now, it's just a matter of hopefully ironing out what's gone wrong, whether it's purely on-court or there are chemistry problems or whatever and entering the NCAA tournament playing more like they were early on instead of like what they're doing now. It easily can be done...it's just a matter of if it will be.

Where did I say I wanted to play KU? What I did say is that there are a few teams I don't think OSU matches up well against, thus not wanting to be in their bracket.
Stomping? Seeing that NO ONE has stomped OSU to date, I doubt that would happen. Seeing that OSU had a chance vs KU, AT KU, WITHOUT their best player, I think OSU would certainly have a chance if they did play.

And as I mentioned..what goes on in conference play can be totally different than what goes on against teams/coaches who are not so familar with you. So who knows.

Now, they are playing some of the best basketball in the country, it would be a stomping.

C'mon they needed a guy who has HIT under 30% of his 3's to go off against OSU . Without Elijah Johnson playing out of his mind OSU wins that game without Sullinger.

You said you'd want to be in KU's bracket, I'd say that means you'd want to play KU over other teams. You guys don't match up with KU, at all. Withey is a monster defender (if he's fucking healthy..he hasn't played many minutes lately because of an ankle issue) and would do well against Sully. Releford is one of the best defenders in the country and would do fine against Buford. Taylor is way too quick for Craft, and can hit outside shots now, which is why he's, currently, the best PG in the country.

Outside of that, whose gonna beat teams for OSU? They have no bench, their freshman are lousy, they have Craft, Sully, and Buford, and then no one to score offensively.

It'd be a bloodshed.

LOL first of all, he didn't "go off" he had 15 points...Elijah's a streaky shooter, obviously he had a good game going 5-7 from 3's against OSU, but it's not like he dropped 40 points on 10/12 from 3's lol

Did you watch the Mizzou game? Missouri couldn't miss. They were throwing it into a fucking ocean. But that's not to take anything away from Missouri. They are really, really freakin good. They deserve all the credit in the world going up 19 points in AFH. They won't blow that kind of lead in the tournament. Saturday was just a different beast. It had everything riding on it. It was the loudest atmosphere in college basketball HISTORY. Missouri and Kansas hate each other, beyond basketball. As Bill Self said after the game, "we simply could not lose this game-and it has nothing to do with basketball"

And yes, anything short of a national championship is considered a failure. But I'd take a Final Four. I don't think Kansas can beat Kentucky or Syracuse, as they do not match up well with either. So Final Four or bust, for sure..but most KU fans want another title or the season will be a failure.

That's actually exactly right. It's called coaching. Bill Self, Dooley, Danny Manning..unreal what they have done. Withey was HATED last season, now he's a monster defensively and offensively at times. TT was one of the most hated players in KU history, now he's a legend--one of just a few 4 year starters for Kansas.

And it's not that ridiuclous to think they lost games this year..I know you're just being a douche, but they weren't playing well earlier in the year. And even the best teams in college basketball history lose games.

Mizzou is a team that could make a run, and could also get beat in the 2nd round. The live and die by the three. Luckily for KU, the got cold, yet continued to fire away, thus leaving KU the opportunity to get back in the game. Yes, they are good. But one cold game or any kind of foul trouble in the NCAA, and they are done. No depth. Very inconsistant post play. That doesn't bode well for NCAA.

Just to clarify, I personally think OSU does match up very well with KU. If I had to pick a winner right now, I would pick KU because they are playing pretty well, no question. But things can change pretty quickly. And I'd rather take my chances playing KU before UK and 'Cuse. They are flat out the 2 best team, better than KU. Not even a question about that right now.
