If I could putt like this guy, I'd shoot in the mid 60's everytime out. We're great two man scramble partners. He's said if he had my distance he'd shoot mid 60's all the time. I'm always closer to the pin than he is, but I bet he averages 4-5 less putts than me in a round.
I've only beat him once in an event, but when we team up we literally never lose. And yes I know "practice putting", but I rarely 3 putt... just rarely one putt. He has an uncanny ability to one putt.

You must be talking about my friend I grew up with and he was our League MVP all 4 years in high school....he played 3 clubs short of the rest of us but Jesus he 1 putted everything.

I have always been the master of the 2 putt.....with just not quite enough 1 putts. My iron play is just shit and I can't fix myself anymore apparently.

I can hit a bad lag and make the 2nd putt from 8 feet. But if I stick one 8 feet from the pin I'm more likely to miss the birdie than make it. It's the most frustrating thing in the world.

Yeah I wasn't cheating, I literally could barely swing the club, couldn't get the ball in the air. Once healthy I pissed guys off a couple weeks till the high score disappeared.

Instaed of a big organized outing...who from the OC would be interested in just getting some foursomes together on the Sat of Labor Day weekend somewhere in the middle of the state like Deer Ridge / Mansfield and playing for bragging rights?

Yea, Labor Day weekend is a bad choice, especially this close to the Holiday. I'm a hacker, but I would be willing to come just to get some pointers, if we could find a good weekend.

Heading up to Treetops tomorrow. Never played there. Playing all 81 holes up there. Especially looking forward to the par 3 course Threetops. Golf Digest had it at #9 in their 'Most Fun Courses' list in last months issue.

I'm down. Shot 37 at Detwiler from the blues on the Front. Usually I'm around 40 but I was on fire Saturday. Really getting a good tempo on my swing.

Deer Ridge is a bear! The elevation there is crazy and I had to walk it at the Colt Invitational. Greens break ridiculously and I had like 40 putts, couldn't read em at all

Shot 42 lastnight in league. Took me 3 holes with 3 doubles to realize I was hanging back on my right side...all b/c I narrowed my stance. Needless to say, I got beat badly.

Pickaway country club? I played in a scramble there a couple months ago. Pretty nice course but they had the pins in some fucked spots.

When you get to playing a lot do you start to get some bad habits and not play as well? The guy I walk with was shooting some smooth 72s-74s much of the summer, but the last two times out he shot an 80 and was pretty much hitting stingers off the tee and picking the ball with his irons...the last time he was so off he left after 9.

About 1/2 of our team in high school used to have those issues by the start of the season...our senior year we actually cut back our summer playing and we tore it up that year.

Yes I get very lackadaisical this time of summer. My brain kind of goes on auto pilot after playing well for awhile. The first hole I thinned an iron off the tee, but it went straight and I didn't give it too much concern. Then I thinned it over the green, but I got up and down for a par so I still wasn't giving it too much thought. Hit a good drive on the next shot, then pretty much shanked my second shot.. then third... pretty much didn't hit a good shot until the 4th hole. I forced my weight on my left foot until I got the feel back.

Shot a 24 today on the front 9 in a 4 man scramble. Had 3 pars on the back and shot 28. The guys sitting at 18 under weren't happy to see us come in.
