Phil is playing well. Withdrawing from the Memorial is really paying off.

Yeah he's playing horribly :/

This thread reminds me why there's only one forum on the internet worth talking about golf on.
Carry on gentlemen.

Sure was.

So is saying hes playing like crap on the toughest setup in a long time. Anyone with half a brain can see he's actually playing better than he usually does.

Yeah it was bogus as hell. He shoulda limped off til he got out of sight and hopped and his car and told his agent to say its his Achilles then play 3 days later in the Monday pro-am.

Who's gonna win this zwick? Lotz?

Gonna take the wildcard and go with Charl Schwartzel.....Paddy will be right there in the end, unless Tiger just ends it.

Unfortunately from what I've seen, Tiger will probably win. It's truly the first time in a long time I've seen him in such control of his swing.

Butch Harmon said that after the Memorial about Tiger's swing.

Sunday pressure can mess with you....Tiger is mentally tough, but he's got a pretty large monkey on his back from the past few years. It'll be interesting either way how he holds up.

Harmon also said no one would be under par for the week.

The whole "been there, done that" thing will help out tremendously.

you had to figure that was going to be the case after the birdie fest at congressional last year (even though that was pretty much the perfect storm of events that led to scores being so low)

also, what is the story behind sbnation calling woods the "noted golf enthusiast" in every tweet/write up?

And let's clarify one thing. I used to love Tiger when he came on tour. How could you not with hid game? I hated who he became. He became too good to talk to anyone. He got preferential treatment. His whole personality changed. He became the biggest cry baby on tour. So now, he can GFH.

He was focused on one thing and one thing only, getting to 19. He said f*ck everyone else, I'm going to do/act what I need to do, and ditched the personality that made him so appealing in the first place. I know people love successful and historical athletes, but Tiger wouldn't be anywhere as popular without the personality that attracted so many fans to him in his early career.

I know exactly what you're talking about when you say why you don't like him, but personally my affinity for the game (and subsequently my appreciation for his abilities) overrides my negativity towards him as a person which is why I still like him/root for him.

I'm not talking about when he's on the course. I don't fault him or anyone from interacting while they're playing. I'm talking about when he's done and avoids autographs from kids or eye contact in general from people. When he's out in public and doesn't want to be bothered. Hell just the fact he ignores other people...even his damn coach and caddy ... and wants you to know he's ignoring you. He's a classic dickhead. There's no way anyone can dispute it. He became an egomaniacal, passive-aggressive dickhead. He didn't start out that way.

BTW Zwick, what driver you using these days? I just got a Rocketballz, never thought I'd like it more than my Nike but jesus it's f*cking awesome the ball just screams off the clubface and it's much easier to control.

I switched from the i15 to the G20 this year. It took a couple buckets to get the timing down but it's a great driver. We'll see what the real distances are once we get some rain again. I drove it 375 Wednesday because the fairway is like a wide cart path.
