Proxy Guide for MLB.TV!
Log out of MLB.TV before attempting to use this guide!!
To get around the obnoxious blackout restrictions you can use a proxy during the sign in process for MLB.TV. Once you have gotten past the "verifying geographical location" step when you're loading up a game you can shut it off. Chrome and Firefox instructions are below.
Chrome
1.) Install the Proxy Switchy! Extension for Chrome:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/...babniblemipncjj
2.) After you've installed it there will be a nice little globe to the right of the address bar:
3.)Click the globe then Options. This will bring up the screen below. In profile name type something (I use MLB but it really doesn't matter!).
4.) Get a proxy from here (
http://www.proxy-list.org/en/index.php) and select SSL and Anonymous + Elite under type. Make sure you enter you the captcha phrase after scrolling down (see screenshot) and then click enter. Look for sites with 100% uptime.
Results:
5.) After you have the ip address you need and port number enter it under HTTPS Proxy & Port then click save. Make sure your options look exactly like this screenshot (besides the ip address/port)
6.) Click on the globe at the top right and select MLB or whatever your called the profile name.
7.) To see if the proxy is working browse to
https://www.google.com. If Google comes up, yay! Otherwise, you'll get the error message below and you'll need to try a different proxy
8.) Log on to
http://mlb.mlb.com/mediacenter and try to open your game. If you get a technical error or it times out the proxy you're using isn't working. Try another. Other than that should pop right up.
9.) After you're done logging on/have the game started you should click on the globe again to hit "direct connection" so your internet isn't going through some unknown proxy.
