I don't see that Burke's offensive stats are any better than Craft's. FT%...same.....FG% Craft is significantly better. Steals? Craft. Total points? Burke...but Burke plays 5 minutes more per game. Don't know much about Burke's defense, but I doubt that he's as good as Craft. So, in a nutshell, as a Buckeye, Burke would have his ass planted on the pine, sharing minutes with Scott.

Just one mans opinion. But I know he is the most respected color/analyst in college bball by many, including myself, as well as others on here.

I'm guessing Craft's shots are a bit more selective and safe.

Self isn't even a top 5 coach in the B1G. I'll admit Matta missed on Burke looks like he'll be a great one. As for Craft, he is a great defender beyond that he is very average. Buford hasn't amounted to much since that awful Kentucky game and Sullinger isn't as good as he was before he hurt his back. Thomas is Thomas, not much defense and inconsistant offense although he was pretty damn good in this game. At least it looks like Matta is finally giving up on Ravenel. Sam Thompson is ok, I'd like to see Ross play some, Williams is so freakin lazy but still is better than Ravenel, and what happened to Siebert and Weatherspoon? (no minutes at all lately) This team does appear to be falling apart, it will be interesting to see if Matta can pull things back together. They never look like they are playing hard, always coasting and just trying to stay close and make one run and win the game. With the athletes on this team they should never walk the ball up the court like they do most of the time , get your lazy asses moving and get some easy scores. They have been a disappointment this season so far and I'm afraid the worst is yet to come.

Uh oh....wait for it. Enter centralbucksfan to explain how stupid you are because Matta does a fine job of using his bench.

The lack of a bench has always been Matta's weakness. People think OSU has depth this year when you look at minutes played, but in big games Matta has little confidence in anyone other than his top 5. It's frustrating at times and is hard to explain.

I'd like to see more of Scott and Amir Williams because I think both bring something that is lacking.

Though I would guess that most players that are recruited to play at tOSU do not come in thinking they will be bench players. Most (big time h.s. players/recruits) come in expecting they will be starting--if not as a freshman, soon after.

OSU will lose at least 2 more games if not 3 (BIG tourney) and get the #3 seed in the tourney in the midwest bracket behind Missouri and the loser of the BIG tourney game. If MSU wins the tourney they will be a #1 seed.

The only way they get a #2 seed it to win the tourney

If they only lose one more game they'll get the #2 seed...the only way they drop below that is if they do indeed lose at least two more games.

Sometimes I wonder did Thad forget what got him to the National Championship game in 2007? Thad use to go very deep with his bench. The 2005-06 season you had guys like Ron Lewis, Ivan Harris, Matt Terwilliger, and Sylvester Mayes coming off a bench for a team that won the Big Ten outright and didn't have a single NBA player on it. The next season, when Oden and company came, he went an average of 9 deep again with Othello Hunter, Daequan Cook, David Lighty, and Terwilliger that 2007 season.

I think many wonder why lately Thad has gone to a shorter bench. Here is my guess. It goes back to the 2009-10 season when we had Evan Turner. Up until then Thad still used his bench a lot but only this time we didn't have the same quality players. That year we went to a very good West Virginia team (Made the Final Four) and we led throughout the game but lost the lead late. Some of the guys off the bench made some errors that helped West Virginia get back into it.

The next game we had Minnesota at home. And we ended up destroying them. But Thad only played 6 players. The starting 5 and Kyle Madsen. With the success of that we went with a 6 man rotation pretty much the rest of year. And since then it appears he been stuck on it. But I wish he knew that we no longer have to do that anymore. We don't have The P.J. Hills, Jermie Simmons, and Kyle Madsens anymore. Now the bench consist of 2 Mcdonalds All-Americans and a recruit who was once ranked the #1 high school player in the entire country (Laquinton Ross). Even J.D. Weatherspoon and Jordan Sibert could be starting at numerous other D1 schools. Can someone tell me if Matt Terwilliger, Kyle Madsen, P.J. Hill, Othello Hunter, B.J. Mullens, and Jermie Simmons is better than what we have on the bench now? And how can we develop all americans if they aren't getting real game actions? Just food for thought. I think it's time for Thad to get back to what brought him success. If it's not broke, then don't fix it.
