I do think McCreary had some quality assistant coaches, I hope Haas keeps some of them around the program and replaces a couple he had at Cloverleaf.

offensive cor.for sure is coming haas i think is going to take most of the defense also heard probably another coach from cloverleaf coming with him but not for sure i think they are having to wait and see what happens with the school system as far as jobs go. Also so far the coaches that i believe are staying are quality people and think they will do fine with a new LEADER.

Yes, Haas has already hired Coach Wickard who was his offensive cor. last year and was at wadsworth before that.. probably several more from the Leaf headed that way as well..

I just hope haas puts the time in to make it work, because he has not up to this point. He does not work extra for any kid in reference to getting them recruited or helping them with college stuff. He has never had a D1 sign in any program and believe me he has had some. Very good salesman for himself so he should try and sale some of his players. I want them to win but I have been close to haas ball too long over the years and know what to expect.
Who on any of Haas' teams in the past have been D1 prospects? From what I have heard Haas has always done his best to get colleges interested in his players..

That Eby kid who played for him at Cloverleaf had some D1 looks.

Lets just hope we start the winning tradition first and i think the college stuff will work out in the off season. I think he will do the best he can to put kids in the right posisition for college. He wil most definitely be better at it than the previous coach was.

Haas will see it as a statement game regardless of what happens the rest of the season, and he will be right. He understands how important that game should be to win as a coach and for the program.

The streak ends this fall.

Wooster will be more prepared for that game this year then they have been in the past 10 years or so. I too, look forward to the Generals ending the streak, and the Orrville fans excuses to begin. Go Woo!

I don't believe the existing 8-10 graders have lost to Orrville all the way through Jr. High, Freshman and JV. Sorry Orrville your streak is about to end.

I'll even let BRF start the game thread this year, so he will have one less thing to complain about after the game.

Coach Haas is a very good coach, and a great person. I wish him the best wherever he is! The last few years I've been a Saturday morning Cloverleaf fan, checking the paper for their scores to see how he was doing. Good luck at Wooster! Hopefully we continue to scrimmage them every year... good preparation for our kids going against the bigger, faster, stronger folk from WHS.

Wow...hard to believe the "swag" Woo has with a new coach. Talk all you want now. We have heard all this before about how the 7-8th graders roll over everyone. Did not seem to pan out on Friday night lately. You have some work to do before you get a free pass on "swag" with me. It's easy to talk in March....

I think gowoo's post and 5K's both bring up an interesting debate. Yes Wooster has had talented umderclassmen in the past who didn't perform up to their abilities on Friday Nights. That was a pretty consistent trend.

Now that the stumbling block has been removed there is a optimistic outlook on the future Blue and Gold teams. Yes, they will have to prove it on the field, but for those of you who don't live in this town or haven't been around this program the new attitude toward this program is difficult to explain.

I think much of the success Woo has in the younger years can be attributed to numbers. Just the size of the program lets them field a whole team with kids at proper positions. Many smaller programs do a bit of tweaking the starting 11 to field a competitive team. It is when the classes mix in High School that the Red Riders have proven their worth the past six years. That's when it counts. The same thing can be said for JV teams.
