I'm hearing the Bucs keep sending offers to Schiano, but he won't listen....but everyone fully plans on him taking it eventually; it's the NFL. and It's Florida.

Rutgers has the #1 recruiting class in the Big East, and they still are in the running for 2 or 3 more guys, one being 5 star Darius Hamilton.

If he leaves, goodbye to pretty much their entire class, and goodbye Rutgers.

Rutgers has some legit talent lined up to come in, I wonder how that affects their class so close to signing day (if it's true).

Hearing they will all leave.

This is rough timing for Rutgers...I hope it's not true, and I don't even work for them anymore lol

Idk if this makes sense for either party, but what the hell.

You'd think after Kelly burned them they would stay with an NFL guy

Schiano makes more sense than Kelly but it's still a surprising move to say the least.

I actually don't think this happens. Couple reports out there now saying this is not true, including the entire coaching staff.

We'll see..

I gotta run though, so hopefully I come back to Sherman getting the position (I think the Bucs are just using Schiano to get Sherman to come down on his offer)

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have finalized a five-year deal to hire Rutgers coach Greg Schiano as their new head coach, according to league source. The two sides had been busy putting the finishing touches on an agreement Thursday morning that gives Tampa Bay a new direction and Schiano, 45, his first NFL head coaching job.

So far, almost all their big recruits have tweeted that they will stay w/ their commitment to Rutgers...which is good to see.

Carroo is the only one I've seen who will be taking a visit somewhere else, but he might still stay w/ Rutgers.

I think Florida almost definitely gets Darius Hamilton now.

Hearing the HS coach of most of their better recruits (Toal or something) is interviewing for the job.

Yeah, Don Bosco Prep

That school is RIDICULOUS for recruits lol http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/rankings/rank-2926

They've won 14 state championships, including 8 since 2002 (been in the title game every year).

Rutgers' AD Tim Pernetti (a former player) is an "assistant coach" so he can now talk to recruits haha kinda cool, and a brilliant idea imo.

Maybe PSU can somewhat save their class by poaching some of these kids. Oh, nevermind, their Head Coach is preparing for the Super Bowl instead of recruiting.

I gotta think the OC Frank Cignetti, Jr. is a leading candidate to replace Shiano. Keeping it in the family usually helps salvage the recruiting classes and keeping the current players happy.

Yeah Cignetti is a fan favorite right now, probably because it'll keep the recruits here.

Not sure how well he'd do as a HC though.

S&L, do you think this might sway Devin Fuller to Nebraska?

Fuller more likely at Arizona than Nebraska I think.

I have no idea where Fuller will end up. I'd say he was probably a Rutgers lean before Schiano left, but who knows now.

He's going to announce Sunday, and i'd say Arizona (since he just got off an official w/ them) has the best chance. But who knows.

I wouldn't be surprised if he needed more time and pushed his announcement back further.
