I don't see the card this weekend being a big winner either. I'll watch it on the comp.

Maybe cause it only has 2 big fights and Chad Mendes isn't very popular? That's my guess. I haven't really heard/read too much hype about the card.Scarlet_Buckeye;1044997 wrote:Why?
Aldo is must see tv though.

I'm more interested in Belfort/Rumble but it's mainly because I don't know anything about Mendes.

I thought everyone was RAVING about 142 awhile ago. Perhaps I'm getting this one confused with another one (and NO I'm not thinking of 141: Lesnar vs Overeem).

144 is stacked top to bottom, most stacked card I can ever remember.

Rumble Johnson is apparently way overweight, has to weigh under 205 by 2:00 tomorrow in order for the fight to happen per stipulation by Belfort. How can you go up 15 pounds in weight class and still miss weight that badly?

I know Rumble walks around at 215 and used to fight at 170, but come on, how in the #*#* do you come in 11 lbs overweight (can weigh 186 in non-title fights at MW).

He went up 15 pounds in weight class and still missed weight by 11 pounds, smh lol. Wouldn't surprise me if he gets cut win or lose. Good thing this fight is in Brazil because I don't think any Athletic Commission in the US would allow the fight to take place. We will see if he makes 205 by 2:00 tomorrow. Totally unprofessional though and Dana is pissed.

Rumor has it that stanozolol, a well known weight cutting drug (helps lose water weight without losing muscle) is why he couldn't make weight.
Basically without "fighter bashing" or calling him out, the rumor has it that he had always used this drug to make 170 even though it was illegal. The drug has just recently been able to be tested (they caught Cyborg, the woman recently) and so rumor has it that Rumble stopped using it and couldn't even cut to 185, let alone 170.
Again, huge rumor, just might explain it.

So he came in weighing 197 and he has to re-weigh in tomorrow under 205?robj55;1051408 wrote:He went up 15 pounds in weight class and still missed weight by 11 pounds, smh lol. Not a bad idea by Belfort, make him stay semi-dehydrated.

Makes a lot of sense actually, he couldn't cut the weight naturally and had to use this to shed all those lbs and now it's able to be tested and he didn't want to risk it.jmog;1051415 wrote:Rumor has it that stanozolol, a well known weight cutting drug (helps lose water weight without losing muscle) is why he couldn't make weight.

Yes these are the stipulations, I wonder if he will put weight back on today and attempt a second cut to 205 or just try and keep the weight low til tomorrow, interesting. Either way it will affect his performance undoubtedly.jmog;1051417 wrote:So he came in weighing 197 and he has to re-weigh in tomorrow under 205?

From an article on MMA Junkie:
The UFC president said Johnson came within a pound-and-a-half of the 186-pound limit allowed for non-title middleweight fights but was forced by a doctor to rehydrate because "he couldn't make it."

He looked HUGE on the preview on Fuel. He was way bigger than Rashad.
