Nick took it to BJ Penn. Nick is at the top of his game. He shoulda finished 2nd round but Penn held strong and I give him credit. You have to fight Diaz GSP now.

I want Diaz to fight GSP and win but calling him out after the fight was just silly when he was a big part of the reason why they weren't fighting last night.

Diaz pounded Penn last night. I'm not sure what I think about GSP vs Diaz, if I were to pick right now I
Would have to say GSP. I don't think Diaz could stop his takedowns.

No offense, but there is no chance in Hades that Diaz can learn enough TD defense in 3 months to stop GSP's TDs.sportchampps;950730 wrote:I agree Diaz needs to brush up on his takedown defense
He better be really brushing up on his submissions off his back, which to be honest he is VERY good at already.

Diaz seems like the only guy who could get GSP off of his game with all the smack talk. Koscheck is minor league compared to Diaz. GSP may train with freddie roach but i don't think his boxing and striking are on par with Diaz. On the flip side i don't think Diaz will be able to strike for very long without being taken down. GSP superior wrestling may trump Diazs' superior striking and ground game

Diaz likes to plant his feet and stand right in front of people to strike, often with his hands right up by his face. He will be taken down every single time by GSP. This fight will probably look a lot like the Thiago Alves/GSP fight where it just goes up and down for five rounds. I think GSP out struck Thiago when that fight was on the feet, and it will be interesting to see if that happens here. The constant threat of a takedown is like have a really good jab, it sets everything else up.

GSP said, "he is the most disrespectful person I have ever met, I am going to put the worst beating on him you've ever seen in the UFC" lol. So I would say that Nick is already in his head. This fight is really intriguing, Nick will make GSP fight in a way that others haven't. I really don't think Nick cares if GSP takes him down, his guard is unbelievable and BJ Penn)who has maybe the best top game in MMA) was unable to do anything with Nick's guard. Nick is super dangerous off his back and if GSP was reluctant and wouldn't jump into Jake Shield's guard why would he take Nick down right into his? If the fight stays standing GSP will need to kick and keep away from Nick because Nick will batter his ass like he did BJ Penn. GSP does not have the heart or iron chin of BJ and Nick could easily finish him on the feet.

All the pre-fight stuff is a joke and will mean nothing when the fight starts. The UFC is trying to trick people into thinking GSP is going to fight dumb because he just wants to hurt Diaz so bad. Not happening. The only reason GSP stayed out of Shields guard is because he thought Shields has zero chance to win standing. He will mix it up with Diaz and fight him all over, but mostly from top control. It should be a good fight but I think GSP wins by decision.robj55;952394 wrote:GSP said, "he is the most disrespectful person I have ever met, I am going to put the worst beating on him you've ever seen in the UFC" lol. Also, why do people question GSP's heart and chin? The only time I've seen him bloodied and hurt was vs. BJ and he came back and won that fight. The only time he has ever been rocked is when Serra hit him behind the ear. Even after that Serra hit him with many big shots and he never went out.

Not trying to say he doesn't have any, just that his heart and chin are no where near that of BJ's. Last I remembered Jake K1 Shields sent Georges to the hospital and busted him up and the striking numbers were even, and I know that he got poked in the eye. If what happened to BJ saturday happened to GSP he would have been tko'd or KO'd. GSPs advantage is the wrestling and his only chance to win this fight is to use top control and fight off submissions all fight, Nick is the more technical fighter. Early prediction is GSP by decision, but Nick will make it a scrap. I agree with you in the fact that I don't think GSP is going to come out of his safe mode, he will do just enough to stall and win on points like normal. Matt Serra took GSP's killer instinct when he made him tap to strikes.Zoltan;952469 wrote:All the pre-fight stuff is a joke and will mean nothing when the fight starts. GSP will be able to absolutely control Diaz on the ground. BJ couldn't because he was much smaller. GSP is an excellent wrestler and will be able to keep Diaz where he wants him. If he actually wants to put a beating on Diaz I think he will be able to.

He will try and throw short elbows so that he doesn't have to posture up and risk getting submitted.I Wear Pants;952579 wrote:GSP will be able to absolutely control Diaz on the ground.
