I used to not care for Rashad until he was a coach on the Ultimate Fighter.

Yes over Evans with a brutal knee to the body ends Tito's night.
Overeem's side:

I had a feeling Overeem wanted to fight outside Strikeforce with K-1 and Dream and Zuffa wasn't going to allow that! Saw that coming.

Really good card despite all the injuries that it had to endure. A few observations:
Gustaffson is a beast in the stand up, the stronger he gets and more he fills out he's going to be a force at 205. He did what Rampage failed to do which is finish Hamill who is extremely tough.
Chad Mendes failed to impress me at all outside of his wrestling, I don't think he has a chance in hell against Aldo or Florian. He laid and prayed his way to another decision, even admitting in the post fight speech to Joe Rogan that he stayed tight and threw short elbows to do just enough to win, not a fan of those style fighters.
Brian Ebersole could be a force at 170, he is very savvy with all his experience, easily fighting off that rear naked choke and staying composed.
I love sexyama and feel bad for him that he may be cut, that and he got blasted with 2 punches to the back of the head when he was damn near out already, but he needs to start using his judo more against certain guys. He is a guy who comes to actually fight but he has lost 3 in a row because of it and is in danger of being released, one more chance Dana!
Belfort is probably one more win away from a rematch with Anderson Silva, who knows how that fight could go.
Rashad looked impressive despite the long layoff, curious to see how he would do against Bones if he gets past Rampage.
Sucks for Tito that he basically lost all his momentum that he built off that win over Bader but props to him for stepping up when the UFC needed him, not sure who he will fight back but he needs a step back in competition for now.

Oh and Rory Macdonald is the real deal, he is going to be near the top of the division very soon and is only 21. He has finished all of his wins except for Nate Diaz at 129.

Good. I was shocked when the dude came out in that.

I hate Tito...glad he lost, but he isn't losing much ground in the division with the loss. He took it on short notice. No one expected him to really do a whole lot to Rashad -- if they did, that's dumb.
I thought it was a rather boring card. How is Hamill not on the undercard and in the preliminary fights?! Instead we have the middle-aged men fight (Philippou v. Rivera)...that being said, Hamill didn't really fight a good fight and Gustafsson looked good.
I was not surprised that Belfort took it to Akiyama. I have never really been all that impressed by Akiyama. Belfort looked good.
And I agree, Rory McDonald looks impressive. I'll look forward to seeing him fight in the future.

Well I agree about Hamill but Rivera vs Philippou was a good fight so I wouldn't have taken that off.

I thought the fight was extremely boring. Honestly.
It had no draw to it. It's a battle of age 31 and age 39.

I too thought the Rivera fight was good as both guys got after it!

Has anyone notices his backamce in his last two fights. He has so much it makes me wonder if steroids of some kind are being used. And I agree, Rory McDonald looks impressive. I'll look forward to seeing him fight in the future.
I thought overall the card wasnt very exciting and might have been the shortest card in a long time. Dana White went out of his way to praise Tito after the fight. The coolest thing of the night was in the first prefight on spike when Fabers training partner did the flip in the last seconds of the fight. Also what was up with hallmans speedos.

I agree but those are dangerous, right where the spinal column meets the skull. That's the second time Vitor has done that, did the same thing against Rich Franklin.

The main and co-main event's saved this card.
Rashad looked good for being off for that long.
Looking forward to 134 to see Shogun fight!

I noticed it big time in the Diaz fight, it was awful. Does make one wonder however they do go through thorough testing.

I was thinking the same thing when i was at the bar watching the fight. I was bummed Tito lost, I can't stand Evans. When Tito went for the sub the bar went crazy, it would've been awesome to see him get another finish.
If Evans ends up fighting Jones I'm hoping the KO each other at the same time.

I used to detest Evans but then after watching him as the coach on Ultimate Fighter I started to like him a little bit. He's getting more tolerable as he gets older. He doesn't seem to showboat near as much as he used to.Raw Dawgin' it;854542 wrote:I was thinking the same thing when i was at the bar watching the fight. I was bummed Tito lost, I can't stand Evans.
