NFL caliber= being on an NFL team. Not surprised you try to make it out as something else as usual.

Also, plenty of people said Smith didnt belong in the NFL.

Troy Smith is an NFL caliber QB. He'll be in the league longer than Brady Quinn and win more superbowls than Tebow ever will.

Haters gon' hate.

And do you mean win superbowls as in, he's the reason they won, or he helped...or because he was excellent at holding as clipboard so he gets a ring like the trainers do too.

Everyone on the team gets a ring. It would be illogical to discount a clipboard holder as not being a part of the championship run. His leadership and intangibles make Troy a top 10 QB in the league.

Yet he doesn't start.

He has in the past and he will in the future. The Steelers are one of the most well run organization in the league, and if they think he's a NFL QB, he will get his chance.

I'll take NFL GMs opinions over yours any day. How does it feel to be wrong?

the steelers will start troy smith over two time super bowl winning big ben?

He was as spot starter. Cue the "he got sick that's why." How am I wrong? I don't think he's going to be a starter in the nfl. No GM in the create has signed him to be a starter. How exactly am I wrong?

Well, if we're going to book it, it must be true.

You don't bring in a Heisman winning elite leader to rot on the bench. You bring him in to win, and he will win.

I agree with Sleeper to the extent that Smith, as a current member of the roster, has a chance to start any games while he still is on the roster in which the team has deemed Ben won't play due to injury, suspension or because it's preseason.

Elite?

They bring him in to back up Big Ben and he will back up Big Ben.

Troy sets the standard for the word elite. He's probably got a picture of himself next to "elite" in the dictionary.

Just because he's only 6' doesn't mean he's not a top ten QB, when healthy. Look no further than Drew Brees for a shining example of what a non-heisman short guy can do. They don't just hand the Heisman to any bum off the street.

How many college stars don't pan out to be nfl contributors? Another question, how many ELITE nfl qbs are back ups, released, back up in the cfl, and then get resigned as a back up?

The real question is why are you arguing with sleeper?
