His own boss gave him this overwhelming recommendation today, "Tim Tebow is definitely our starting QB going into Training Camp." I shot OJ out of my nose laughing when I heard that this morning at breakfast. Tebow was an amusing novelty act for 8 weeks then the Organ Grinder stopped cranking the handle on the box.

Of course. That glowing recommendation saying that he'd earned the right to be the starter at the beginning of training camp makes me think "ETERNAL STARTER".BearBoy69;1057289 wrote:He'll be a starting QB for years to come. Do not worry
His career will go down as somewhat better than Craig Krenzel's, but not much more. Two guys who entered the NFL with a "all he does is win games" reputation. Two guys who started out winning NFL games with subpar passing stats. After the first of them suddenly started losing games because defense, special teams, etc. couldn't make up for his lack of passing ability, he disappeared quickly. Tebow's more mobile and physically powerful, so he'll have a longer shelf life, but when the smoke and mirrors fade away, so will he.

I agree with this. Tebow seems like a great guy, and I really wish him the best. But I don't think he has the talent to succeed; he's gotten very, very lucky and substantially outperformed his true talent. That's not something he can do forever, and eventually, he'll revert back to the mean, and it's going to get ugly. I hope I'm wrong, as I'd love to see him do well.Heretic;1057322 wrote:Of course. This is why I disagree. Small sample size, I know. But I see the trend continuing. IE, teams figuring it out with tape and playing him a 2nd time. 3 teams plays Tebow twice this year. SD, KC and NE. These are the COMBINED stats for those 3 games, the 2nd time around.BearBoy69;1059789 wrote:I know it sounds like a lot of stupid falling out of my mouth, as i know he'll never be elite, but he will get better, worse QB's have won the SB

A rational one who doesn't stick to incorrect opinions simply because he's embarrassed that *gasp* not all of them are always correct.BearBoy69;1059817 wrote:Those stats make me wanna change my mind, but i will stick to my guns! What kind of man would i be if i went back?

One thing you are right about is that it is a very small sample size.
The first game against SD Tebow didn't play until the late in the 2nd half and was 4-10 for 79 yds but he did almost help bring them back from being down big and win.
The 2nd game against SD he went 9-18 for 143 yds in a win. That's figuring him out the 2nd time around?
The first KC game he was 2-8 for 69yds in a win and the 2nd game he was 6-22 for 60 yds in a loss. Looks like KC just has a good defense. They didn't figure anything out different.
As for NE Bill Belichick does that to just about every team he plays the 2nd time around not just Tebow.
Why don't we all just wait until after next year when Tebow has a full off season,mini-camp, pre- season and regular season as the starter to evaluate his prospect as an NFL QB. If he doesn't improve at all next year I will be the first to say I was wrong about him being a QB in the NFL.

Billy RESIGNED after modell moved the team to baltimore. Nice attempted jab though.
