As the parent of two adopted Asian kids, I can tell you for a fact that most of the Asians I know don't play the race card often. However, the terms "chink", and "gook" are equal to calling other races/nationalities the N-word, or other extremely derogitory racial terms. Especially calling a Korean a "chink" is probably the greatest insult you can call them.

I'm not defending Papa Johns. I'm merely saying this is an overreaction and should not be national news or any news at best. If the situation occurred where I was the customer and the person wrote "Jackass" as my name on the receipt, I would either laugh or call to the attention of their error. If they wrote "Man round eyes" on my receipt I wouldn't make a federal case out of it, especially if they were doing it for identification purposes.
The only thing is that they could have chosen better wording, like "Asian Lady", but of course that would have been made a big deal too.
