Seeing how the patron recieved the insult ,I think it was totally out of line . You just cant treat the customer in that way . you cant be rude period . I honestly dont know what Id have done if somebody did something like that to me ,but Id be way pissed . think about it you come into a place of business and you buy goods or services and then the business insults you like that on the reciept.SnotBubbles;1049063 wrote:<a href="http://ca.news.yahoo.com/blogs/daily-buzz/papa-john-employee-fired-racial-slur-receipt-180158302.html" target="_blank">

Why didnt the Papa john's people tell the "Mrs lady Chinky eyes " she would have to pick up her food at the back door. It is a fireable offense . They may be subject to lawsuit if the employee is not fired .

If a middle eastern person was called a " sand negro" on the reciept is that fireable?
If a mexican person was called a Mr "wet back" is that?
Call somebody a "pollock" on the receipt
How about " Greaseball" instead of Italian
How about "flatfoot" instead of police officer.
How about "House negro" to a black guy in a shirt and tie?
How about "Krout" to a German person
Instead of "Chinky eyes " why not "slope".. Its all demeaning.

I would think if an employee puts anything offensive on a receipt and gives that to a customer it should be a fireable offense.Thinthickbigred;1049950 wrote:If a middle eastern person was called a " sand negro" on the reciept is that fireable?

Whether or not it was "politically incorrect" or "racist", the deal here is that it was a business being represented, and an employee representing that business in a public place. It was completely unprofessional, and that's all there is to it. Call it "racist" if you want. That is all subjective. I'll call it unprofessional, fire the employee, apologize to the customer, and move on. It doesn't even have to be race... put "fat guy that smells", and that's completely unprofessional, too. Offensive? Again, subjective. But totally unprofessional, and I wouldn't want that person working for me.

Then you write something down, pretty much anything but what was written down would have been acceptable.sleeper;1049461 wrote:Where did I ever say it was acceptable? What if the lady didn't give her name or the man couldn't understand her name?
I just think the backlash is a little extreme and screams PC more than anything.
The backlash screams racism isn't cool more than PC.

All of those are absolutely things that could and should get a person fired.Thinthickbigred;1049950 wrote:If a middle eastern person was called a " sand negro" on the reciept is that fireable?

Especially "crout" because not only is the attempted insult unprofessional but the misspelling of it is almost as offensive.

I've been offended by that before. It was back in the early days of this site and I complained about a picture of ninjas beating up an Asian chick that ETB posted. It was taken down and ETB went off with cracker ass cracker.wes_mantooth;1050046 wrote:god damn cracka ass crackas

Racism is the belief that one's race is superior to another. This is not a case of racism, but it is a case of a marketing management major at a worthless college throwing around a word he doesn't understand. This is a case of someone being rude to a customer and that ignorant customer overreacting and trying to play the race card as a victim. She needs to get over herself and grow some thicker skin. This should not be national news, but she does deserve an apology for being mistreated.I Wear Pants;1050472 wrote:Then you write something down, pretty much anything but what was written down would have been acceptable.

If customers only knew what people that work in stores/restaurants really thought of them...it would be a lot worse than what's on that receipt!

It was a stupid thing to put on the receipt, and the person who did it deserved to be fired. This shouldn't make national news, but companies are trying to get out early on twitter to avoid major PR fiascos (which this appears to have turned into).

Mind-boggling that this got national attention. Who cares? If the Korean lady had any sense of dignity, she would think "Huh...they're making fun of me because I'm Korean, but joke's on them: They work at a fucking pizza place" -- a shitty pizza place at that; Papa Johns sucks.
And of course go turn the receipt into management so someone gets fired.

She's probably one of those cunts where the offending employee getting fired wasn't enough, she wanted everyone in that place fired. Only reason you go make this national news.friendfromlowry;1051508 wrote:Mind-boggling that this got national attention. Who cares? If the Korean lady had any sense of dignity.
Unless one of the other employees caught wind and spilled the beans. In which case, I apologize for calling her a slunt (slant-eyed ****).
