I got this next piece from scott castor on cantonmckinley.com, he says she and Rich Milligan were at Walthers Cafe in Canton tonight taking questions and these were
Nadine McIlwain comments
They addressed McKinley supporters and concerned community members at Walther's.

Nadine McIlwain quotes from this afternoon:

On why she voted the way she did:

"I voted to end all of this mess... I voted to end all of this dissension."

On moving forward:

"We've got to move on. We've got to bring this community together."

"I don't know the process of hiring a someone else, but I hope that you all (Johnson supporters) who are in this room, representatives of all of you are all apart of that. I would also hope that the other side that are opposed are also apart of it."

On what caused the dissension:

"A coach who came with coach Johnson, his son played Quarterback" (Kyle Ohradzansky)

"Another one was of course making the announcement... about who was going to be the Quarterback without the kids trying"

"The third one, Todd Porter said it in his column, about not respecting the mother of the child by not contacting her to let her know (inaudible)."

Interesting quote from BOARD MEMBER Ryan Brahler....
“The one year we were 14-0 with a national championship, the haters were still out there,” Brahler said. “It’s never going to change. No matter (what a new coach does) I don’t think they will get the support of the entire community. I don’t think we can have a coach like Donnie Hertler Jr. in North Canton where there’s a long-term love affair between the community and coach. That’s a dream in this city that isn’t going to happen”

That sums up McKinley in a nutshell. It's never going to be good enough.

Ron Johnson is the North coach in tonight's Blue-Grey All Star game. It is not on tv, but will be streamed live.

Never trust someone who puts a PO Box as her address and the first part of her email address is scUM. From the way that woman talks I'm sure it means something......she probably just spelled it incorrectly.

Sorry fell a little behind in the whole saga that is McKinley Football.... Coach Johnson has now hired an attorney and his lawyer has given the BOE time to "do the right thing". they have yet to file a lawsuit but only time will tell.

Part of a statement from Johnson's lawyers...
Imagine the community uproar of three white men, two of whom were in the first hours of their new job, fired a black female coach whom they had never met, and whose team had just completed a season in which the student athletes which she coached had achieved significant successes on the field and in the classroom.
Canton would absolutely erupt if that actually happened.

Here's the full statement.

There is meeting set for Wednesday Night Jan. 25th at McKinley HS at 6 to discuss the future of the McKinley Head Coaching Position with plenty from both sides of the argument wanting to talk. We shall see what side has the most compelling argument and who shows up more. I feel like it could be ugly but idk. either way Go Bulldogs

Very bad situation brewing at McKinley!! I agree with Skank about this crap all starting with Coaches comments at last years end of season banquet. Tyler Foster's Mother must carry some type of clout up there in Canton? Why is this?

I DID say that Sept, but I was wrong, I think it all started....The (reverse) racism that is, WAY before Ron Jon got there.

To be honest, and ya'll can call me what you want, but I actually hope they DO get an African American coach, we can watch it all fall apart together then.

Hire Jesse Jackson as the head coach and bring in the NAACP as his assistants...maybe that will satisfy them!

Listen to THIS joke. McKinley has put together a committee to hire a new coach....There are sixteen, (16), people on the committee. Some are administration, a few are ex players, Zach Campbell & mike Doss, some are community members.

Sixteen?

Too many factions want represented, that should really slow down the hiring process. Hopefully someone is overseeing off season work outs so all this time won't be lost.

What's this I hear about a special CCS board meeting on Monday night? Surely they can't be thinking of restoring Johnson as coach? Can they?

Sounds like everyone is firmly entrenched.

I don't like seeing McK fall apart. I'm from Steubenville, and I remember the days back in the 1960's when our two teams had a hell of a rivalry going. I'd like to see that happen again.

I'd say it's highly likely it's being considered. There is a LOT of ticked off people right now because he was fired. Even the students are wanting him back.
