It's just a spring clean

Yes, there are two paths you can go by
But in the long run.........

And it makes me wonder....

....

Your head is humming and it won't go
In case you don't know
The piper's calling you to join him

Dear lady, can you hear the wind blow?
And did you know
Your stairway lies on the whispering wind?

Love Zeppelin, kinda lukewarm on Stairway to Heaven though. They have many other songs that are better than Stairway...

The Rain Song is an absolute masterpiece...probably my favorite Zep song ever, if I had to pick one. Page & Plant did a great acoustic version in the mid 90's. You can watch it here:

Other favorites include:

Achilles Last Stand
No Quarter
When the Levee Breaks
Heartbreaker
Gallows Pole

I actually got to see Robert Plant last year when he toured with Alison Krauss (who is great in her own right). They did mostly stuff from their album together, but when the mandolin intro to "Battle of Evermore" kicked in, the place went absolutely nuts. I had chills during the entire song...it was almost surreal, since that's as close as I'm ever going to get to seeing Zeppelin live.

Battle of Evermore is one of my favorites as well. It's hard to pick a Zep favorite ( Babe, Dazed and Confused...etc) I saw then in Pittsburgh over 30 years ago and still have great memories of that night.

I am amazed at how many young people like Led Zeppelin.

Another of my all-time favorites: The Who

True on The Who but they make my second tier! LOL

With regard to being young - for me - not so much! I remember listening to Stairway to Heaven on my 9 volt transistor radio late at night on WLS AM 890 when it was new to the Billboard Top 40 charts!

Yea I love the old stuff and I'm only 20.

My dad always told me when I was a kid that I would grow to love his "Old hippie music" because it actually meant something.. Man he was right.

I love Zeppelin, The Who, Pink Floyd, Skynyrd, Jefferson Airplane, Bob Dylan, The Stones, and sometimes the Beatles lol

The "old" rock and roll will live forever. It's so much different than today's music where most bands don't have a distinct sound. If you stop and think about all of the old bands, they all have a disinct sound. When a song comes on the radio, you immediately know who it is. It's not like that now.

Since I've Been Lovin' You is my favorite. Love Zeppelin. I can't call them the greatest band ever because I can't call any one band that--at least in my own head--but they're in my own personal discussion lol.

My kids had no choice but to listen to the classics such as Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Doors, Jethro Tull, etc, etc... They are all the better for it.

I play a Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd mix (what I see as greatest hits for both) in my classroom, so I can educate all my (HS) students on good music.
