I saw that Jim Bollman was hired by Boston College as their offensive line coach and running game coordinator. For all of the crap I've given him in recent years I truly wish him the best in Boston.

If you see news of any other former Buckeye assistants that we're retained by Meyer at OSU getting hired elsewhere, please feel free to share that here.

Nothing says "spark a 112th ranked total offense" like bringing Jim Bollman on board.

Curious to see where Nepotism Sicliano ends up.

Bollman landed on his feet much faster than I thought he would. I figured Heacock would be the first one grabbed. Illinois would have been wise to offer up their DC position to him

Bollman is a perfect fit for running game coord. He has a running play drawn up for every situation!

1-10 Dave Right
2-8 Dave Left
3-43 Draw

Heacock may have more options and it's possible that this Bollman deal was worked out a while ago and Heacock was still waiting to see if he was retained. He'll definitely end up somewhere, and likely somewhere good.

If he wants to stay DC he will most likely end up somewhere like Illinois. If he is willing to take a strictly DL coaching position, he could end up somewhere big, REAL big.

Yeah, I mean Illinois could have had Heacock and they went after NC State's DC instead. Curious decision at best. We all know NC State is known for their defensive prowess and that players from Illinois would all know who Joe Tenuta is.

(Tenuta has since reneged and returned to NC State)

It really just depends on what jobs are open. Heacock was a good defensive coordinator for us. His coaching talent would not limit his choice of a job at all.

+1...he'll land on his feet and hit the ground running.

Still, Heacock is getting up there in age, his family is from NE Ohio, his family is still in Ohio. Does Heacock want to move away? I wondered if he would just retire.

Absurd prediciton: His younger brother Jeff hires him to be the HC at Muskingum....lol....

It is true that he's an Ohio guy and is getting older, which is why it will take the right job at a big time program to get him to move. I'm sure he won't mind retiring, but I also don't think he's done coaching.
