I can remember my parents telling me that Gone with the Wind was at theatres for over a year when it came out so that is not all surprising that when adjusted for inflation it would be number 1. Titantic to its credit was in theatres from December to August of the following year (at least in Toledo) which is incredible by todays standards where even the biggest summer movies are only out for 2 months max for the most part.

It wasn't a terrible movie by any means. It did draw a lot of money from women and young girls seeing it a bunch of times but the same can be said for Star Wars. By no means is it at the top of my movie list but I would still consider it a good movie.

I found myself many times while watching Titanic just saying hit the damn iceburg already!!

It wasn't the highest grossing movie of all time. If you adjust for inflation, not sure why you wouldn't, nothing touches Gone With the Wind.

Because it was a great movie, with a very good plot, wonderful cinematography and special effects, and an amazing score.

And a killer surprise ending, I mean, I really didn't see it coming. The boat sank, wow, who would have thought. :huh:

lol were they supposed to change what historically happened and make the boat survive?

Greatest date movie of all time: 1st half of movie, a love story, rich-girl/poor-boy romance, which appeals to the ladies; 2nd half of movie, a disaster movie besot with betrayal and selfishmess, which appeals to the guys.

The greatest date movie of all time is "Last of the Mohicans". It has a dual love story for the women and a hell of a lot of war scenes (including the legendary heart-cut-out in the valley) for the guys.

And there's nothing that really draws out the boner-killing tears of a woman either.
