I could be mistaken, but I kinda thought that's what they were going for. So what if they do?

I finally saw the previews for this last night, it does look like some scenes might be a little corny, but not as bad as I had imagined.

Pearl Harbor was OK, until they added on the DoLittle raid section of it. That, and only that, makes PH a movie to watch. Up until that point it was just another way of showing PH but adding in love stories to draw women to the theatres, or should i say, adding in love stories so it was OK for women to want their men to take them.

REd tails....eh. This may sound dumb, but at least from the trailer they showed on TV it looks to "colorfull". What I mean by that is all the great war movies, even the more recent ones, have that darker, gloomier look to them. They look dirty and grimey, but this, at least according to the commercial, has flashy colors to it and doesnt give one that 'old time' vibe if ya know what I mean. I thought the movie Fly Boys was the same way.

Well, its not a comic book for starters. Those scenes are corny and unrealistic. Which works in the comic movies, but not in a War movie.

I found it interesting that they didnt mention anything about the Tuskegee Airmen in the commercial, at least the one I saw. That was my first thought when I saw it but they didnt say anything. I think it looks chinsy as well. I really dislike when the comicbook up movies, like 300.

You do realize 300 was originally a comic book, right?

yeah, I didnt realize that until after the fact when I posted it somewhere, maybe here.

I thought it was going to be more like historic events and be a little bit more realistic, but the movie was like a comic book/video game/music video or whatever and took me by surprise.

Had watched the history channel version and I know hollywood changes alot in movies, and I knew that going in, but 300 wasnt like a movie that was supposed to portray history, it was a comic book....and it was my fuck up I didnt know that going in.

probably because they(Tuskegee) didnt want them to recognize them or some sort of copyright thing....however the "Red Tails" is sorta their nickname because they painted the tails of the planes red.

Quite possible. They could at least mention them though.

They probably read the script.
