That rule has to be changed IMO, when there is clear recovery regardless of the whistle.

So the refs screw up and blow the whistle so Denver gets screwed even though it was a lateral. Makes sense and it could change the game.

Officials way too quick with that whistle. Let the play develop if it's close or not sure.

It happened in the OSU-Florida game and OSU was rewarded the ball. Guess college has different rules about it than the NFL.
