Call me biased but he will hang around in the NFL and surprise everyone saying that he is terrible, he was absolutely unstoppable at Notre Dame when they finally got their offense together.
did ND even make a bowl game while Clausen was there?..My memory isnt the greatest but im pretty sure they sucked.

The excuse then was that they had the worst defense in college football. Thus why they didn't make a NC. Not sure about bowl game though.

I see this deteriorating quickly, but to answer the question yes they did. In 2008 they played in the Hawaii Bowl and won.

Adam sheftler made a very interesting point about mike Wallace. If a team was smart they could give him a big roster bonus and it hits the cap right away and the steelers are way over the cap so if they want to keep mike Wallace they have to cut a lot of people. If the browns could give up there 22nd instead of the 4th I would do it in a second.

I don't think you know the definition of awful. A six-year old girl throwing a football is awful, at worst he is a top 100 QB in the world. Awful? GTFO.

Technically it only costs one pick, we would swap a pick and lose 22.

Correct

I was just implying it would cost the 22nd as well.

Well let's use Occam's Razor for a moment, shall we?

Scenario one:

--Called a "once in a decade" QB and the #1 recruit in his class.
--Commonly considered the most talented and accurate QB in Notre Dame history.
--Had a great 28-4 TD-INT season his final year at ND, and one of the best QB ratings in the country.
--Led one of the best passing offense in the country in 2009.
--#3 QB taken in the NFL draft in 2010.
--Played on the worst team in the NFL as a rookie and sucked mightily.

Scenario two:
--Jimmy Clausen suddenly became an "awful" quarterback when he was drafting by the Panthers.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm...............

Plenty of guys have sucked with bad systems/teams, plenty more sucked as rookies. To say he's "awful" is fucking retarded.

Scenario A: Compare an NFL QB to the population as a whole (six year old girls)

Scenario B: Compare an NFL QB to the collegiate level, using collegiate stats

Scenario C: Compare an NFL QB to his peer group, other NFL QBs

I know which one makes the most sense to me. The only reason to make an absolute comparison rather than a relative comparison is because relatively he doesn't stack up.

Lol wow, how delusional are you? How much ND bias do you have stored up in that brain of yours?

Some players are good in college, and suck in the NFL. Happens EVERY YEAR. Jimmy Clausen is one of those people.

Agreed. But you act like there's a 0% chance he will ever amount of anything in the NFL and it's not that uncommon for a guy to change his situation and system and succeed.

And I wasn't just using college stats, he has an entire lifetime of elite accomplishments. I think it's silly to look at one horrible year with a horrible team and assume he is pathetic now for the NFL game.
