I was reading an article today about RGIII in which it is speculated his stock is going to go parabolic around the combine time.

He is going to score amazingly on his Wonderlic many seem to think given how smart he is, and if he has a blow the doors off 40 and personal workout the phone lines are going to be burning up for St. Louis.

I think that is why Fisher is already planting those seeds.

Interestingly though RGIII today said he doesn't want to go to a team that mortgages the future to trade up and get him because he will then have a harder time succeeding. That was interesting to me.

Regardless, RGIII should be sending Cam Newton a thank you note because NFL GM's are far more open minded to his style of play and tools now after the success Cam had last year as a rookie with a similar skill set.

The buzz around him really seems to be growing of late considering all the reviews I have seen from people about him talking on radio row this week with the media.

I don't think they have a similar skill set, I think RGIII is a much better thrower.

Both ran a spread type offense in college, didn't take snaps from under center, used their legs alot and were very athletic, and both have very strong throwing arms.

How does that not constitute a similar skill set?

That has nothing to do with skillset unless you really put a lot of stock in the ability to grab a ball from under center and think it's hard to learn how to do lol.

Skillset would be throwing power, throwing accuracy, athleticism, other QB intangibles. Griffin is faster and more agile, Newton is stronger and runs harder. They both have strong arms, but Griffin is a much more accurate passer. I don't think their skillsets are as close as you make them out to be.

defense with the 4th pick. interesting.. the only way i see that happening is if RGIII and Blackmon are gone by our first pick.

Blackmon will be, but I don't think they take him.

I see Minnesota or St. Louis trading their pick to someone who wants RGIII, and the other one will take Kalil as they both have young QB's who desperately need O-line help.

I am starting to get the feeling the Browns may very well go defense as well, since I don't think they like any offensive players enough to draft that high, and once Luck/RGIII are off the board there is no real stud that teams are going to be wild about trading up to get.

Yeah, Kuechley at #4...not such a good idea. Good player but he'd probably be there if they traded down to 12-15.

I've seen some mocks with him going at 9-10. But with a good combine he could move up. Honestly I would love to trade down if we don't get rg3

Very good player but he'd have to have a ridiculous Combine to leapfrog guys like Claiborne, Blackmon, etc to get picked at #4. Agree with your second statement about trading down if RG3 is gone. They'd better have some sort of legit plan for a starting QB though.

Why...because I don't want to sit with the most CHILDISH, bottle throwing fan base in the NFL? Idiots hold that "event" as some kind of "badge of honor." Really don't want to be associated with it. Have BETTER things to do with my time. I also work from home on Sunday's prepping for the coming Monday workday. Money is more important to me than driving 3 hours round trip to sit with a bunch of drunks. NO thanks!

After watching the Giants and their receivers last night, it just reaffirmed how bad the Browns WRs are. There's nobody on our roster that makes the catch Manningham made, and he's the 3rd option. Nicks and Cruz catch everything in their general vicinity. Browns WR's have perfect passes bounce off their chests.
