I know you didn't mean to say fire, but with our coaching carrousel lately, this statement makes perfect sense lol

They'd have to go 6-4...there's NO way we are going 6-4 the rest of the way lollike_that;1298054 wrote:The Browns are simply not going 6-5 with Shurmur as a coach.
Rotinaj;1298071 wrote:Id LOVE to have Gruden. I think hes an above average coach and there are just simply no better options. And no way in hell do they win 7-8 games this year. I also lol'd at that list of games that we "should" win. The Browns arent good enough where they "should" beat ANYONE. Well maybe the chiefs with Quinn at QB, but i can still EASILY see charles go for 500 yards.
Hahaha. Oups. Yeah my bad! I had back surgery yesterday so I'm in the hospital all drugged upSportsAndLady;1298065 wrote:

He's gone regardless.BR1986FB;1298048 wrote:So if Shurmur can turn this around and get this team to 7-9 or 8-8 does he keep his job?
good point.IggyPride00;1298126 wrote:He's gone regardless.
They won't say it yet but this new regime clearly wants to live and die with their own hand picked pieces.
Mike Holmgren essentially sabotaged his own regime by trying to be fair towards Mangini because he showed promise at the end of the season instead of just bringing in the guy he wanted. They never recovered.
Banner will not be so kind I don't think.
lol wake up and smell the 1-5 OQB. I'm all for being optimistic, but this is crazy. Expecting wins? LMAO. Patty Boy is still the coach, and we have one win. Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda won 3/4 games? We were in a bunch of games last season as well and still finished with 4 wins. At least 2 wins from that group? lol lol lol. We've won 1 game, every one of those teams in the second group has won 300% more games this season than we have, where do you get off with at least 2? You're getting delusional.OQB;1298055 wrote:We all talked about this before the season even started, and a lot of us were saying that this youngest roster in the NFL would struggle the 1st half of the season, but learn how to win and show a lot of progress in the 2nd half of the season.
They are sitting at 1-5 right now....and have been in every single game they have played and could easily be 3-3/4-2.
I have seen improvement across the board and think our theory still has merit to it and these young guys will continue to get better and win games the 2nd half of the season:
The following games they SHOULD win:
Colts
Raiders
Chiefs
Redskins
These games I think could be a win if they continue to play better and finish games:
Ravens: We were very close to beating them the first game on national tv, and their 3 biggest defensive players are hurt.
Steelers: Aging roster and this just seems like a typical down year for the Steelers, but we should be able to atleast split with them.
Chargers: Traveling across the country to play the Browns, a good gameplan can beat Norv...especially with special teams
Cowboys: Romo is as incosistent as they come...and so is their coach.
Broncos: It's tough anytime you play Peyton, but that's why you play the games.
I think the Browns can grab atleast 2 wins from that group and would put their final record at 7-9....I think that would be enough to keep Heckert and Shurmur here...BUT they have to win those games they are suppose to win, and "steal" a few victories from better teams like Mangini was able to do against the Saints/Patriots. If they can do that and all of our young players keep improving week to week, I think it;s a no brainer you keep the stability in place and look towards how you make this team better.
I was answering the question to what does Shurmur have to do to keep his job.....Commander of Awesome;1298163 wrote:lol wake up and smell the 1-5 OQB. I'm all for being optimistic, but this is crazy. LM F AO. Erica Womangini beat the Pats and the Saints on a prayer, and all of a sudden he's your bench mark? Sorry, that's pathetic. Erica had a 1-12 record in his first season. That's FUCKING pathetic. ini 2 seasons we won 10 games our of a possible 32. That's a 30% winning percentage. lol "like mangini did" lol. You killed your entire argument there.OQB;1298175 wrote:I was answering the question to what does Shurmur have to do to keep his job.....
I don't think it is unrealistic to say the Colts, Raiders, Chiefs, and Redskins are all very winnable games and we SHOULD expect to win those because those teams are a combined 7-15 are equally as bad as we are.
Shurmur has to find ways to beat teams better than his....like Mangini did. I just think the Ravens and Steelers are on a steady down hill slide and the injuries and aging roster is going to hurt them, unlike the Browns. We are just now getting a lot of injured guys back that will help improve this team and I think the biggest one is Taylor...the sooner he can be out there the better off our defense is going to be. Weeden is becoming more and more patient and relaxed in the pocket and delivering NFL type throws. Shurmur and his staff have to keep the improvements going and find a way to beat those better teams.
I'm not saying 100% they are going to go 7-9....but I honestly don't think 6 or 7 wins is out of the question with the way the team has been playing the past few weeks and against the teams we are going to face.
Last year was last year, we did not have the offense we do now.....we were forced to throw because we couldn't run the ball, and our QB couldn't throw it more than 5 yards down the field. I think we have added a lot of talent and should realistically look for 5-7 wins this season....and ultimately it will be up to Haslam and Banner to decide and evaluate the entire organization on how they performed this season and if that is the direction they want to go.
I hated Mangina just as much as you, and yes his time here was pathetic and he only won 10 games in 2 years.......Those were Mangini's two best games as a coach (Saints/Pats game)....and they were against teams they had no business beating....All I'm saying is Shurmur has to find ways to beat those teams he has no business beating...he hasn't been able to do that.Commander of Awesome;1298176 wrote:LM F AO. Patty Boy hasn't found a way to beat any team, let alone a miracle David Bowens 2 pick 6's and a reggie hodges 66 yr fake punt play. Erica got lucky beating the saints.OQB;1298183 wrote:I hated Mangina just as much as you, and yes his time here was pathetic and he only won 10 games in 2 years.......Those were Mangini's two best games as a coach (Saints/Pats game)....and they were against teams they had no business beating....All I'm saying is Shurmur has to find ways to beat those teams he has no business beating...he hasn't been able to do that.
But if you ask the Weeden haters (nobody on this site said this), it was Colt McCoy with his 74 yards passing that beat the Saints. Get your facts straight.Commander of Awesome;1298185 wrote:Patty Boy hasn't found a way to beat any team, let alone a miracle David Bowens 2 pick 6's and a reggie hodges 66 yr fake punt play. Oh right, clearly the perfect formula for winning!BR1986FB;1298193 wrote:But if you ask the Weeden haters (nobody on this site said this), it was Colt McCoy with his 74 yards passing that beat the Saints. Get your facts straight.
I hope not. Want nothing to do with a college coach.BR1986FB;1298196 wrote:Have heard his name mentioned.
Yeah No doubt Sabin turns down the Browns.....Saban on the other hand might want that chance to get the ultimate football championship...the super bowl. Will it be with the Browns....only 2 people know that answer.shook_17;1298217 wrote:I doubt Sabin comes to Cleveland
