Shouldn't make picks based on fan's reactions. Sticking with McCoy would have said "we are not going to reach for a QB."BR1986FB;1165502 wrote:There would've been no optimism whatsoever had they stayed the course with McCoy this year. Not saying Weeden is making this team a playoff contender this year but staying with McCoy would've said "we don't give a fuck...we're 'doing our time' and getting the fuck out of here." Making the move shows they at least care and want to win NOW.
You can say that about any draft pick. I don't see it panning out. If it does I will gladly eat my crow. If he isn't leading this team to the playoffs next year, I already consider the pick a fail Calling it a disaster if we missed out on him is just laughable.lhslep134;1165503 wrote:It's amazing how pre-draft I would have 100% agreed with this and now that we actually have him I feel the need to defend him and respond to you by saying that hey, if he pans out, missing out on him might have been a disaster.
I hate how blindly optimistic I am about Cleveland sports.
What would be a disaster is if he is a complete bust and Decastro is a perennial all pro guard.
