Ta da. He's either in the NFL as a back up or heads North to play, eh?

According to OBR the Browns had Swartz rated higher as an RT than Reiff or even Kalil.

They had him as a target for months according to some of Adkins previous stuff. That's why he didn't come as a surprise to me.

Hopefully Schwartz pans out to a be a solid RT. The Browns have to have one of the best, if not the best OLs in game. Couple that with Richardson, who should end up as a top 5 back in this league and the Browns could be well on their way to making the playoffs.

He will be on with Bull & Fox at 2:30 if you miss it. I think he's going to be on with every sports talk show in the city except Kiley & Booms.

Travis LaBoy was just released. I know the Browns had talked to him back in 2011 when he was a FA but he chose the Chargers. My guess is he goes to the Rams to pair with Jeff Fisher but wonder if the Browns have any interest in him.

According to Wikipedia "On July 29, 2011, the San Diego Chargers signed LaBoy to a 2 year contract. He was released by the Chargers on May 7, 2012. After his abysmal performance in 2011 and most years prior, it is likely that this will be the last NFL team that he ever plays for."

lol maybe we don't want him after all. I don't recall him playing for that many teams but I guess he's bounced around.

LaBoy's mom wrote that too...

Seriously though, wasn't LaBoy a 4-3 DE that was converted to a 3-4 OLB? Not always the easiest transition to make. Maybe he revives himself back at DE? Looking at his stats (for him historically) they weren't that bad. Second highest # of tackles for him in a shortened season.

The Browns will have Trent Richardson, Brandon Weeden and Mitchell Schwartz on the field to start the season, and they will be the foundation for a turnaround in Cleveland. Considering their circumstances, it was an excellent draft and Cleveland fans should be excited.

What an idiot:
6. Trent Richardson, Cleveland Browns
It's going to be a rough season for Richardson although not by any fault of his own. Richardson will be a good back in the NFL but the Browns' offensive line is so bad that it's going to be very difficult for Richardson to have numbers consistent enough to make many fantasy football lineups.

The Vikings have/had top 3 worst oline and AP did alright behind it. I thin Richardons behind Joe GOAThomas and Alex Mack will be just fine.

Also he didn't even get David Wilson's college correct. SMH, state of journalism is a joke.

Yeah, I saw the O-Line comment and rolled my eyes.

Not sure if you saw the O-Line rankings on the OBR but the Browns come in at 15th. I think this team will be VERY good at running the ball and expect Richardson to have in excess of 1500 combined yards his rookie year.

LOL at the O-Line comment... Not a bad list though I don't think I'd have RG3 that high the Skins have a brutal schedule.

Yeah...and you early-round-drafted a RT, didn't you? And the right side was the weak part of the line, so you'd think that at this point in time, the line should be considered AT WORST average/mediocre. A truly good back doesn't need all-pros at every position in front of him to make yards.

And if Richardson's season was gonna be all fucked up because of a weak line, why would he be a first-round pick who's ranked #6 by them? "He's a really great player, but because he doesn't have an elite guy, good luck hearing about him!". Kind of a contradiction...

So Holmgren seems to think that MoMass is going to have a breakout season citing his preseason foot injury and learning a new offense.

One thing that concerned me was that when Shurmur spoke of Weeden after the draft he gave you no doubt that Weeden was the guy where today Holmgren threw out the "competition" word. Now I know there's not going to be a competition but these guys should at least get on the same page.

Holmgren confirmed on Rizzo's show what I posited just before Tennessee took Kendall Wright (which really no one saw coming).

They were going to take Wright at 22, and then get Weeden. I jokingly said if he wants to light the town on fire trade back into the 1st round and get him (assuming they had gotten Wright) and Holmgren was thinking the same thing.

I am encouraged that at least he seems to have "gotten it" that Colt McCoy was not an acceptable option heading into this season.

Weeden was plan B according to Mike, but they took him at 22 to avoid the chance of losing him altogether (which would have been a disaster).

There would've been no optimism whatsoever had they stayed the course with McCoy this year. Not saying Weeden is making this team a playoff contender this year but staying with McCoy would've said "we don't give a fuck...we're 'doing our time' and getting the fuck out of here." Making the move shows they at least care and want to win NOW.

It's amazing how pre-draft I would have 100% agreed with this and now that we actually have him I feel the need to defend him and respond to you by saying that hey, if he pans out, missing out on him might have been a disaster.

I hate how blindly optimistic I am about Cleveland sports.
