To me, guys like Richardson & Weeden were too obvious. I think Schwartz will quietly go about his business and solidify a position that has been a weakness since Ryan Tucker left. Best O-Linemen are the ones you don't hear about. Richardson & Weeden will benefit greatly from a solid showing by Schwartz.

"May the Schwartz be with you....."

Pretty much this. I'm so damn tired of scoring two touchdowns every three games if we're lucky.

As long as he fixes our OL issues.

5. Who will start at RG? We signed about 4 UDFA OL plus our mid round pick. Does anyone have a change to unseat Lauvo, or even Pinkston at LG?

Nobody is unseating Pinkston, imo, but I think the kid from Colorado from Columbine might have a legit chance to compete with Lauvao at RG.

Don't sleep on John Greco either. Heard he was probably better than Lauvao at RG but the stinges didn't start him (Greco) in any game because it would've "kickstarted" some clause that would've meant surrendering a draft pick to the Rams.

1-throw out your favorite draft pick, both short and long term players

2-who will be the best 2 WRs on this team by year's end?

3-give me your final AFC North standings this year

4-game you're most excited for this season (Browns vs ???)
1. Trent Richardson for immediate impact, and I really like the linebacker from Nevada. We needed a fast lber who can stop the run. Also excited for the potential the offensive line can have.

2. Can we use TE's lol? If so Little and Watson. If not Little and Moore (since he is being converted to a WR apparently).

3. Baltimore, Shitsburgh, Cincy (I have a feeling they will fall off a bit, not really sold on Dalton), and Browns. Although I say this all the time, I really think the Browns can win a game or two in the division and possibly play spoiler.

4. Week 1. It's turning into a tradition for my friend and I to go to the home opener.

I think we are going to see great improvement from Pinkston this year. Apparently he has been working real hard this off season.

I may be wrong on this but I thought he was working with LeCharles Bentley's O-Line Academy?

Yup. I thought you posted that article lol. Just as long as LeCharles doesn't teach Pinkston to tear his ACL without any contact, I think he can be helpful. Say what you want about the guy, but he was a pretty damn good tackle. If it wasn't for that idiotic injury, he would probably still be playing with the Browns at a high level.

LeCharles also taught OSU OL Chris Carter IRRC. He now plays DT after being at the bottom of the OSU depth chart.

I believe Bentley was a center/guard, not a tackle? He was also training Bobby Massie at his academy getting him prepped for the draft.

Not sure if anyone has seen Bentley lately but the dude is still a monster. His arms are bigger than most peoples legs.

Yes, you are right. My bad. Imagine a line with JT, Bentley (only 32), and Mack.

I doubt they draft Mack if they had a healthy Bentley. More likely a stud guard to put by Bentley.

That game is going to suck for you as you might be the only person at CBS. Last game of the year is at Pittsburgh. :D

Trent Richardson should transform the backfield. He's far superior athletically to any of the other backs on the roster and is talented enough to be a boon as a runner, pass-catcher and blocker. But if the lack of quality WRs causes defenses to stack the box again this year, he could be limited

May 04, 2012 9:55 a.m. - by Marty Gitlin

Brandon Weeden boasts a far stronger arm than incumbent Colt McCoy and completed 73 percent of his passes last season. He was drafted to start immediately. He should improve the red zone offense, which is critical, but don't look for a vast improvement until the WR position is upgraded.

May 04, 2012 10:04 a.m. - by Marty Gitlin

The Browns desperately need a starting RT and some draft analysts considered Mitchell Schwartz the best pure RT available. He's an automatic starter and should help immensely as a run blocker. The Browns have lacked an outside ground game. Schwartz should help clear the end for RB Trent Richardson.

May 04, 2012 10:15 a.m. - by Marty Gitlin

Considering Travis Benjamin has been the lone pickup at WR in the offseason, he better contribute. His 4.3 speed certainly gives the Browns a commodity not previously on the roster. The Browns are desperate for a receiver who can stretch the field, providing room for underneath routes in the west coast offense.

May 04, 2012 10:06 a.m. - by Marty Gitlin

The selection of John Hughes was a head-scratcher, particularly in the third round. But the DL needs depth and perhaps the coaching staff was mildly disappointed in 2011 first-rounder Phil Taylor. Taylor might play more consistently with occasional rest and Hughes could thrive in a rotation.

May 04, 2012 10:12 a.m. - by Marty Gitlin

The Browns lack speed at that position. James-Michael Johnson should provide an upgrade with his sideline-to-sideline range and pass-rushing skills. The three-game suspension of OLB Scott Fujita could result in immediate playing time. It's hoped Johnson can play outside because D'Qwell Jackson is set at MLB.

May 04, 2012 10:19 a.m. - by Marty Gitlin

Emmanuel Acho should add athleticism to a position in which much more of it is needed. He recorded impressive numbers at a major program (Texas), indicating that he might eventually land playing time. He could contribute immediately on special teams.

May 04, 2012 10:25 a.m. - by Marty Gitlin

Billy Winn could battle Marcus Benard for playing time as a pass-rushing specialist. He's part of the overall effort to add speed defensively. Some believe he's better suited to play in a 3-4, but he could help at what remains a questionable RE position despite the FA addition of Frostee Rucker.

May 04, 2012 10:29 a.m. - by Marty Gitlin

Trevin Wade will be tossed into the mix of young DB hopefuls that includes Buster Skrine and Eric Hagg. If he makes the roster, he'll likely play only special teams until he proves worthy in the secondary. He's strong in coverage, but lacking in speed. Wade could get a shot in the nickel.

May 04, 2012 10:35 a.m. - by Marty Gitlin

Brad Smelley could get a chance to catch passes out of the backfield. Owen Marecic was certainly a disappointment in regard to production last season. Don't expect much from the Browns' last pick.
