I don't believe you know what the word "proof" meanspassword;1032040 wrote:This just proves that the Catholic church is ok with gay guys who molest little boys. When a priest molest a little boy, they try and cover it up and hurry up and move the priest to another church so he can continue to rape young boys. This priest in the story is accused of having porn on his computer, images of preteen girls and they want to defrock him. I think he should be charged by the police for his crimes, but my gripe is if it was images of young boys they would not want him defrocked, they would just cover it up, because raping young boys is ok with the church.

WORCESTER, Mass. — A Roman Catholic diocese in Massachusetts has asked the Vatican to defrock a priest who is facing charges of possessing child pornography and stealing from his parish.
A spokesman for the Diocese of Worcester (WUH'-stur) tells The Telegram & Gazette () that Bishop Robert McManus has asked the pope to defrock the Rev. Lowe Dongor. http://bit.ly/rqPrfv
Diocese officials say they are seeking to laicize Dongor in the wake of a "clarification" last spring by Vatican officials that child pornography possession is grounds for removal from the priesthood.
Authorities say images of preteen girls were found on Dongor's computer. He also is accused of stealing $40 to $60 from St. Joseph parish in Fitchburg on several occasions. He was released after pleading not guilty and suspended from ministry. It is believed he fled to his native Philippines.

Yes I am.Sonofanump;1032585 wrote:So you are stating when a Catholic Priest molest little boys, he is not removed. Interesting assumption.
He is just transfered to another church to continue his ways. History shows that the Catholic church has covered up the molesting of little boys for many years, that is fact.

The Catholic Church suffered in the public's eye because of widespread cover up of molesters. That is so horrible, it's almost beyond comprehension. That said, presently the church has shown itself to be extremely quick about not tolerating anyone who is accused of a crime against a child. The damage to the reputation of the church may never be overcome. The actual instances of pedophilia among Catholic priests is the same as the male population at large, a point that is often overlooked.
The Church bothers me in a lot of ways, but seeing how they now handle cases of alleged crimes against children isn't one after the changes they've made.

They do? I think that is an example of obviously wrongful thinking on the Church's part....20 YEARS AGO. To imply that this is S.O.P for the Church today is either ignorance or a less than honest attempt at a smear. The story you posted completely refutes your assertion as it appears the diocese worked to have the man defrocked. The Church/ Diocese has no civil authority to arrest or hold the man...he was released by the police. When a priest molest a little boy, they try and cover it up and hurry up and move the priest to another church so he can continue to rape young boys

They defrocked this man because he had pictures of pre-teen girls on his computer and had stolen $60.00, not for molesting boys.HitsRus;1034300 wrote:They do? ^^^ you noticed that too????....so why are you talking about molesting little boys? This story has nothing to do with that. They defrocked this man because he had pictures of pre-teen girls on his computer and had stolen $60.00, not for molesting boys.

That is my point, if he had pictures of pre-teen boys on his computer or was accused of molested young boys they would not have done anything.I Wear Pants;1034473 wrote:The guy in the story isn't accused of molesting boys though.

Untrue. Perhaps if it was 20-30 years ago yes, but not now.

I have not heard much about the church defrocking a priest for molesting boys lately, are you saying that the priest have stopped committing this crime?

I'm saying that it happens as often as it does in the general populace and that you don't here a news story about everyone of them.
