I knew he wasnt going to stand and throw, he wuold get destroyed.

But this lay n pray wall n stall stuff makes the sport fucking pitiful to watch. Sure strategy is great and what not, and I understand wrestling is part of the sport. But that kinda shit is almost embarassing, its ilke saying "I know i have no shot if we go at it the whole fight....So im gonna try and make sure nobody throws punches this fight"

And i'm sure you said Rampage was going to kill Rashad and i'm sure you said Machida was going to kill Shogun...your just another guy that hates Rashad and predicts his fights based on that.
Brother I'm a Shogun fan from day one so back the fuck up.

Then the opponent of the wrestler should 1)learn to sprawl, 2) throw combos instead of backing and trying to counter all night. Rampage waited and waited on Rashad, thats why he lost. Rashad initiated the action and finished by taking Rampage down or controlling him against the cage, while working for another takedown.

Hb31187, then you might as well watch boxing. MMA is a sport of athletes whom are well rounded in a lot of different disciplines and don't just throw fists to beat their opponents. Also, there's no way Rashad is going into that fight planning on standing with Rampage and throwing punches. That would've been stupid on his part.

My thoughts:

Rashad didn't win the fight. I mean yeah, he obviously won, but he didn't do anything to win it.

Rampage had his ass finished in the 3rd round. Rashad was lucky to escape. Rampage just didn't land the finishing punches on the ground.

It was obvious that the 14 months really messed up Rampages game. Ring Rust and taking time off to film a movie is what lost Rampage this fight. Despite all that, this was still a very close UD, even though Rashad was "in the best shape of his life and took this fight more seriously than any other".

With that said, I have no doubt, a re-focused Rampage is about to come back to the UFC. A dude who if faced with a rematch against Rashad, will probably KO him by the end of the 2nd round.

Glad I got the fights last night. They were definitely good from the beginning to the end even though Rampage got beat and that seemed to sour the mood for a time.

I agree there wasn't a fight on the PPV where I was bored. The prelims were garbage however.

Had some time to think about last night's event and sleep off all the beers I drank. I was very let down by this card in terms of action. Lil Nog better be thanking his lucky stars, what a robbery that decision was!! I don't get Bisbing wanting a shot at the belt/Silva he doesn't deserve it. Rampage and Rashad was not the brawl I thought it be. However Rashad fought the smart fight and did what he had to do. The surprise of the night was seeing a over hyped Duffee get KTFO by a Roy Nelson wanna be :).

Right then right back to holding each other against the ropes. If you don't like MMA don't watch it, watch the boxing and be happy!

-Lil Nog got lucky he won that fight, Brilz should've won

-Diego needs to go back to LW fast......

-Bisping really isn't that great. Once he fights top tier talent he gets shitted on.

-The over-hyped Duffee got KTFO!!!

-What do you know, Rashad in another boring fight. Rampage didn't do enough other than the 3rd round flurry where he should've finished the fight. Once Rashad fights Shogun, it's all over, Shogun will put his ass asleep.

Did anyone else think it was the funniest thing in the world watching Duffee gettin knocked out? Not really the punch that knocked him out, but the part where when he went down Russow climbing up him and giving him a little love tap in the face just to make sure. The whole bar was cracking up when they showed the replays of him gently tapping him on the face.

Question for you "wrestling is part of the game get over it" people.

If you think take downs and wall n stall and lay and pray are so important even if you inflict little to no damage...Dont you think unsuccessful takedowns, like the 5 or more in the rampage evans fight that lead to just being against the fence stalling, should count against the fighter who attempted the take down?
