Anderson Silva and Nick Diaz both fail drug tests. Diaz post fight for Marijuana and Anderson Silva pre-fight on January 9th for an anabolic steroid, legacy tarnished.

Diaz no surprise but I think being busted for weed is so dumb, no way that helps performance but Silva with roids was very surprising and sad to hear!
Yeah Weed isn't a PED and being busted for having METABOLYTES in your system is a joke. The NSAC is a joke and needs to be overhauled, everyone there needs to be gone.

The amount he tested for was a lot. He took the fight knowing he would be tested. If he can't stop smoking for a few weeks then it's on him. Stop making excuses these guys know the rules and break them.

So, 2015 so far:

1. Silva, Diaz both fail drug tests.
2. Weidman (sp) has to pull out of fight with Belfort.

Off to a great start, guys!

Metabolites, he could have stopped smoking weeks, not active in his system. Either way not a PED. This is Nick's third offense and I guarantee he gets a way harsher punishment than Anderson gets.

Cannot believe he clowned Anderson Silva that bad, balls of steel on that dude. He needs to get serious though because that's 3 losses in a row and this was a winnable fight for him that he let get away. Good to see Anderson back though, very emotional moment for him.

Just watched her the fight, and having it 48-47 proves your bias for Diaz. He wasn't close to winning two rounds. One maybe, not two.

Only 2 rounds were competive, the other 3 were not close. Diaz was outstruck in every round.

Weed stays in the system about four weeks that includes metabolites. With the training Diaz does and the amount of liquids he drinks I would suspect that he could have it flushed out of his system in 2-3 weeks. All he has to do is stop for a couple weeks before a fight. He knows the rules and still was to stupid to stop. There's NO excuse for these guys to fail these tests. It makes the UFC and themselves look bad. How did the UFC let Silva fight after he failed.

Rounds 1,2 and 4 were all basically even. 3 and 5 were juiced Anderson's. In those Rounds Nick was landing solid leg kicks and punches to the body and head and Silva was throwing that bullshit front kick to the knee.

Watch rounds 1,2 and 4. He was outstruck but Fight metric is bullshit, all strikes are not equal. They count any strike landed at range or in the clinch as a significant strike. All significant strikes are not the same.

In other news, Josh Rosenthal is getting out of prison. He was a solid ref, hope they let him come back and make some money.

This couldn't have worked out better for Diaz, unless he gets the book thrown at him. He can claim he lasted with a roided up Anderson, and his fans love it when he fails weed tests.

Anderson news is so weird. He didn't look or fight like was on juice at all.

How is FM BS? It also measures power strikes. One guy was outstruck and was tore up, the other guy didn't even look like he was in a fight.

Diaz landed some good leg kicks but let's be honest for a second. Kicks to the ass don't hurt that much, and many of his kicks were landing that high. Silva's kicks were the knee to thigh ones that deal real damage. Diaz didn't really land any power punches the whole fight and silva did.

You on are right, not all strikes are equal but unfortunately for you Silva landed many more damaging power strikes.

I don't love it when he fails for weed lol He is going to get hammered by the NSAC, this is his third offense for marijuana metabolites. He's probably looking at a 2 year suspension and a huge fine.

I have one question for those that say weed isn't a performance enhancer.

Why do terminal cancer patients use weed to help with the pain? If they are using it to help with terminal pain, wouldn't weed help with the punishment these guys go through in training and in a fight? It would allow them to push harder in training and through pain in a fight.

The same reason narcotic pain killers are banned for professional fighters.

As long as narcotic pain killers are illegal for fighters, weed should be as well. If they lift the ban on one, the other should be as well.

Well most fighters are not high during the fight. There has been speculation Diaz has fought high before though and that's why he gets hammered.
