Davis is a 205 pound Fitch. I'm not a big fan of his fights.bigdaddy2003;1666911 wrote:Phil Davis beat Glover by unaminous decision. Wow
IMO, card was a little lackluster except for Aldo v Mendes. That was a great great fight.

Yeah, prelims were really good. Phil hasn't evolved at all, he basically approaches the fight like a wrestling match. He does zero damage, had a ton of riding time last night though lol. On the feet he just kind of dances around and tries not to get hit, he's frustrating to watch because he's so athletic.Raw Dawgin' it;1666973 wrote:Davis is a 205 pound Fitch. I think he's afraid to get hit. Guys that have good striking are not afraid to take a punch to land one. He has the potential to be better than Jones because of his size and athleticism, but he won't ever be a decent striker to put it all together.robj55;1667209 wrote:Yeah, prelims were really good. Disagree because he doesn't have the potential to be a good striker. Some guys don't have the rhythm and snap in their strikes, and it really can't be taught. Plus Phil can take a punch, and has proved it in the Rashad and Rumble fights.Raw Dawgin' it;1667481 wrote:I think he's afraid to get hit. that's crazy that every fight went to a finish. I'd definitely like to see Rockhold v Jacare 2. I think the winner of that should get the title shot, i have no interest in Silva v Weidman 3robj55;1672045 wrote:Watched the Australia card on Fight Pass, 11 fights and 11 finishes, one of the best cards I can remember seeing. Rockhold and Bisping was competitive until Rockhold landed a glancing high kick and grabbed a guillotine, great finish. Bisping just can't seem to get over the hump in big fights.
I guess you could say it was competitive, but Bisping never looked threatening at all. Rockhold landed the right high kick, then the left, and the one arm guillotine finish was just showing off. I was amazed at how huge Rockhold looked. He made Bisping look way undersized for 185, which he isn't.robj55;1672045 wrote:Watched the Australia card on Fight Pass, 11 fights and 11 finishes, one of the best cards I can remember seeing. Yeah I mean Bisping didn't land anything that threatened him, but he did alright in the first round. He just looked like he was a step slow, not the athlete that Rockhold is. The guillotine was the product of Bisping being rocked, most likely by the time he came to there was no escaping it. Rockhold is definitely a top MW, not sure who they match him up with next. Rockhold did look very big against Bisping, who use to fight at LHW.Zoltan;1672093 wrote:I guess you could say it was competitive, but Bisping never looked threatening at all. If you haven't watched the card and have fight pass it is well worth it, every fight was really entertaining.Raw Dawgin' it;1672063 wrote:that's crazy that every fight went to a finish. I think he should definitely retire after this.Zoltan;1672916 wrote:The most shocking thing about the Shogun loss is he basically lost due to inferior striking technique. If he can't claim that vs. these much more athletic, younger, all around fighters he needs to hang it up.
He's always sloppy. Leading with his face and throwing single kicks with no lead in or follow up. Really hope he hangs it up.Zoltan;1672916 wrote:The most shocking thing about the Shogun loss is he basically lost due to inferior striking technique. Dude is a world class striker. Pretty sure he could knock out anyone on the planet.Scarlet_Buckeye;1672986 wrote:How did Mark Hunt beat Big Country Roy Nelson?!?! Mark Hunt is a fatass. Yeah, so is Big Country, but at least Roy Nelson is trained in mixed martial arts.
Not sure if serious, but Hunt has been training MMA for years now. And their fight was a kickboxing match, that spent the whole time on the feet.Scarlet_Buckeye;1672986 wrote:How did Mark Hunt beat Big Country Roy Nelson?!?! Mark Hunt is a fatass. lol what????????? Mark Hunt is one of the best strikers in the world, his grappling has improved 10X as well over the last few years. Hunt has been fighting at a high level for nearly 20 years.Scarlet_Buckeye;1672986 wrote:How did Mark Hunt beat Big Country Roy Nelson?!?! Mark Hunt is a fatass. Seemed like he didn't respect OSP at all, anyone that big and strong can crack. He came in sloppy and impatient and paid for it. That was sad to see but this is MMA, guys get caught. I would like to see him drop to 185 and fight guys his size actually, not ready to write him off yet at 32 years old.Zoltan;1672916 wrote:The most shocking thing about the Shogun loss is he basically lost due to inferior striking technique. He used to be very technical but patient, I remember the fights against Machida, he methodically cut the ring off and didn't make mistakes. Maybe he should get back with Master Cordeiro who is at Blackhouse.I Wear Pants;1672925 wrote:He's always sloppy. Leading with his face and throwing single kicks with no lead in or follow up.
