The thing is that Gray's not a bad striker either, he was doing very well moving his head and landing against Pearson. It's just when he takes a solid shot he can't recover from it. People always viewed him as this knockout artist with huge power but he never was that. When he was dominating guys it was because he mixed in his wrestling and used his strength to win.

Eddie Alverez was released by Bellator. I fully expect him in the UFC very soon.

Just looked at the UFC 178 card holy shit will it be good. You will have Cruz and Zigano returning. Then Kennedy vs Romero Mcgregor vs Poirer and Cowboy vs Alverez and then a title fight with Mighty Mouse

I had to edit my post - i thought they'd put Alvarez against Ben Henderson and kill the hype train before it got started.

I'm glad Cruz is back to shake up the division, but I've never been a fan of his. He has 2 finishes since 2008.

I think McGregor and Poirier will be fight of the night.

Jordan Mein just smoked Mike Pyle in the first round, what a left hook.

His face was a mess, thought that fight could have went either way and Bisping put it on him.

Huge shot...poor dude's dad was arrested and accused of sexual assault earlier and was barred from cornering Mein as well. All that on his mind and he delivers!

Huge win for RDA, never seen Ben get hurt like that. Flash knockout with a quick stoppage, he recovered quickly.

First thing I said was, that was a quick stoppage. Not sure I would've stopped it.

We have seen fighters in similar situations (Hendo, Franklin) come back from flash knockouts like that and win. However, I think it was a good stoppage.

His legs buckled and he fell like a ton of bricks. Even Stan said any referee wouldn't stopped that fight. I'm glad Bendo got knocked out, i don't want to see him fight for a belt anytime soon.

On the replay it looked like a good stoppage. His legs went jelly, he was out. Ref is there to protect him, so you stop the fight. I think when guys recover from a flash KO it's because the ref isn't in there fast enough to stop it and the guy recovers

The only thing I can think is that Big John saw Benson's eyes and that they were gone, I would have still let it go another second or two to see if follow up shots landed as Benson had recovered quickly. I think main event fights like that deserve a little more leeway.

It hardly matters, the LW belt is apparently only going to be defended once every 18 months. He'll be able to get 5 more fights by the time Pettis signs to a 2nd title defense.

Probably, Pettis has had tough luck with injuries. Pettis and Cerrone both came over at the same time from the WEC. Cerrone is going to have his 15th UFC fight before Pettis has his 6th.
