I see both sides.
I'll continue to follow MMA and the Diaz brothers. Love them or hate them I'd pay bigger money to see them fight then most in the UFC.
I'd like to see a rematch of Condit/Diaz as well. I take nothing away from Condit. He executed his game plan to a T and came away with a controversial decision. No sense in whining about it what is done is done.

Not a fan of the Diaz's. Never have been.

But, I do know that Roy Nelson has 3 losses in his last 4 fights. All have been by unanimous decisions. That's unfortunate. He's a fun fighter. He fights. He just needs to finish them OR figure out a way to win the decisions.

He'll still continue being a crowd favorite in going the distance with these guys while also taking a beating.

And props to Roy Nelson, that knee in the first round would have rearranged my face for good.

Roy Nelson is a beast and he has fought some of the top hvy's in the world since being in the UFC. Wonder what would happen if he lost enough to make it to 205? The blobs of fat cannot be what makes him tough.

He'd be a monster at 205 if that big of a drop didnt kill him physcially. He's what 245 now?

Just an ignorant statement, no one comes to fight like the Diaz brothers. Natural Born Killer my ass. Condit basically said in the post fight presser that if he would have actually fought Nick that he would have won. Greg Jackson point fighting.

I personally had Diaz winning rounds 1,2,5 and Condit with 3 and 4. The fight reminded me of Machida/Shogun I with how Machida and Condit would keep backing away...

Yea the Shogun/Machida fight was the one I kept modeling this fight after.

A TON of professional fighters on twitter said that Nick got robbed too. Cesar Gracie tweeted that Anderson Silva and Chuck Liddell said Nick won as well sitting cage side. Oh well, Nick is the superior fighter, Carlos turned into a point fighter like the rest of Jacksons. Carlos said before the fight he was going to "bury this mother fucker", lol.

Exactly how I scored it. Round one the striking was even striking but Nick was clearly the aggressor and landed better combinations. Round 2 was the same with Nick out landing Carlos. Round 3 was close but I though Carlos did enough to win that round. Round 4 was Carlos's best round and round 5 was clearly Nick's, secured the take down and almost subbed him twice with a rnc and armbar which was the most dominant position of the fight. Whining won't change the outcome but that was frustrating.

The only argument I would make is that 50% of the leg kicks condit threw were push kicks to keep Diaz at bay not kicks to due damage. The other problem I had was 2 judges scoring it 49-46.

NWIndianNation01;1075609 wrote:Before I comment on the Diaz fight, I just want to say something about the Big Country fight. I can't stand Big Country but that dude HAS the strongest chin in all of MMA. Nobody should be able to take that kind of punishment and still pursue their opponent. I give him mad credit for that fight. Although I don't like the guy, I do enjoy watching him in the cage. (However, I did think it was a joke that they kept talking that he would get a title shot with a win.)

In regards to the Condit/Diaz fight:
1. First and foremost, I am perfectly okay with the decision. It was a close fight, but can easily see how the judges gave Condit the win. Not going to try to argue that Diaz won, although, wouldn't have been surprised if they gave him the win.
2. Literally RUNNING in the opposite direction is not footwork. Footwork would be having the the ability to stand in front of Diaz and NOT get hit...more shuffling to the sides...not RUNNING like a scared little kid.
3. I don't think Condit came in trying to outpoint Diaz, but rather just ended up that way. There were too many vicious attempts for him to be in there just trying to outpoint him. Didn't see it that way at all. Diaz is just elusive to vicious attacks...in general.
4. REMATCH! Come on, it was easily close enough to have a rematch before the winner gets GSP. Plenty of time as well. Who else should have a shot at Condit before he gets GSP? Hopefully Diaz will reconsider the leaving MMA thing. I know he is a boxer at heart, but he brings so much to MMA.
5. The Diaz brothers are an act....they act all BA for the attention, similar to Sonnen's antics. I read an article somewhere that says both brothers are pretty laid back, easy going guys when the cameras are off.
The only time he was "running" was when he got backed into the cage and circled towards the center like a skilled, intelligent fighter instead of going "oh, I'm against the cage I better let Nick punch me a bunch".

The Diaz whiners are usually the ones saying things like "well maybe he shouldn't have let Nick push him around or bother him with taunting". Condit didn't and the same argument can be made "well maybe Diaz shouldn't have let Carlos kick him in the leg and head so much and should have checked maybe just one kick?".
There shouldn't be a rematch for this.

It wouldn't kill him. He has enough fat he could easily get down to 205 if he wanted to and it wouldn't be unhealthy at all. He's only 6'.

Roy's problem isn't his weight, it's that he has fallen in love with his right hand. He is overly reliant on that because he has knocked a few guys out and has become one dimensional.
