Agreed with the BJJ of Mir. But Mir isn't nearly as big or strong as Overreem which caused him problems against Brock.

That said obviously Alistair needs to try to keep this standing as that's where he will likely find the most success.

Cormier is intriguing to me because he's got one of the better wrestling resumes in the division being an Olympian so he should be able to control where the bout is fought. But Barnett is much more experienced.

You may have a point with strength, but Mir is actually heavier than Overeem. 256 vs 260

Brock's demeanor the past couple days have been strange compared to his other fights. He seriously looks focused to beat the shit out of Overeem. Other times he's been the guy to do interviews and what not but not this time, he just wants to get in there and beat Overeem. I don't get the same feel from Overeem though. He seems way, way to calm right now and he's very cocky atm as well. I personally think he's underestimating Brock right now. But that's just me lol.

I feel the same way, I think once he gets in there with Brock he will quickly realize the animal he is dealing with. He better catch him early or he is going to have his debut spoiled in a big way.

Yep. Brock with another long lay-off. I'm intrigued as to how conditioned he will be, especially if Overeem gets early leverage.

I've never questioned Brocks work ethic, from everything I have read he is a savage during training. More worried that Overeem will be the one to gas, he had a lot of distractions during camp. Leaving Golden Glory because of management, his mother's illness causing him to leave the US and go back to Holland, and the crazy amount of drug testing he had to go through. Not sure how he could focus solely on training with all of that going on.

I have a feeling Brock is going to get caught standing with Overeem. Brock HAS to get the fight on the ground if he's going to win.

I am going to find a way to watch this fight. I have to. I hope we don't stay at a hog roast all night long. This is a fight I do not and cannot miss.
