Certainly could be boring, both guys use distance as their focal points, fascinating match up between two technicians however.

Why do people want to see Jones in HW? There is no way he could compete against guys 60 pounds heavier than him.

He's a natural LHW. Tall, wiry, strong.

He's NOT a HW.

Except they wouldn't be 60lbs heavier than him. Jones probably walks around at 220-230. Cain is like 245lbs I believe.

Lesnar is 265.

But again, Jones couldn't match the true power of a HW.

I just don't get when you have somebody atop their division why a lot of people want them to move around. 205 has a lot of talent, both current and upcoming, so it's not like Jones doesn't have any "competition", unlike Silva.

I disagree. I love when two technically sound fighters with an unorthodox style square off. Both Machida and Bones are unpredictable in what their next move may be.

It should be fun watching the match develop.

Machida is not unpredictable at all. He is very good at avoiding getting hit and has excellent counters. That's about it. I would see that fight as Machida backing up a lot to avoid the takedown and dodging jabs of Jones while trying to time a counter. If he mistimes it a few times he'll get hit and hurt or taken down by Jones and beat on the ground.

I think Jones could beat 75% of the UFC heavyweights right now, he walks around at a good 230-240 I would say. He is big in the upper body but has chicken legs, give him a few years to add some mass and he could easily compete with any HW's out there. He should go talk to the Reem and become uberJones lol, get on that horse meat diet. As for the Machida/Jones fight, I see Jones winning on points. Machida will have to keep the fight standing, which I think he will for most of the duration. He has the second best active TDD in the UFC behind GSP. I felt like Rampage had opportunities to let loose on Jones but he never did or wasn't quick enough to be able to. Fight comes down to one thing I think, will Jones' reach totally negate Lyoto's distance and timing? Awesome match up though, two fascinating styles and two true mixed martial artists who respect each other.

I would tend to disagree, he throws switch kicks, crane kicks and has very good foot sweeps following punches which I haven't seen anyone else do. Not only that but his timing is second to none, but Jones could negate that.

Jones would be alright against most heavyweights as long as they don't throw leg kicks. Any heavyweight with decent leg kicks could maybe retire Jones via knee destruction.

He doesn't throw crane kicks. He has thrown one crane kick. Ever.

He has thrown front kicks before in other fights, some have landed and others haven't.

Lyoto is much harder to hit than Rampage though, and is quicker in and out than Page, so idk.

I just think jones is too long and too fast. i think machida needs to take a punch and go randy couture on his ass. dirty box and grapple him and get him to the ground

Saying Machida is predictable is like saying GSP sucks at wrestling because he never wrestled in college.

Don't get me wrong, I see Jones giving Machida a beat down, but Machida is NOT predictable, not even close.
