I think BJ beats him and thus makes the fight with GSP less interesting. Pretty sad.

I think BJ is actually a tougher matchup for Diaz.

BJ completely cancels out Diaz's BJJ and while Diaz has faster hands, BJ has just as good boxing and more power.

Diaz doesn't have the boxing advantage over BJ like he did over GSP and he doesn't have the submission off his back advantage over BJ like he did GSP.

"I'm not like these bitches. I'm not going to hold B.J. Penn down the whole time like these guys have done. They held B.J. down because they're bigger than him and stronger than him. I'm not going to do that. I'm not a little bitch to try and hold somebody down. I'm going to go out there and fight this tricky mother [expletive], and it could mean a lot of problems for me. It would have been a lot of problems for them, too, if they had fought him like I fight. They would have lost that fight." -Nick Diaz

Completely nailed it, there are people who come to fight and then there are people who come to win by exploiting the rules and avoiding the fight.

This fight will most likely take place all on the feet unless someone gets hurt and dropped. Nick will need to use his length and size advantage.

This is true, no way Diaz can take BJ down, and I'm not sure BJ will try a TD unless he has Diaz hurt.

BJ is most definitely better on top with his BJJ game and Diaz is better from bottom with his submission game, so that is the part of the matchup I want to see, BJ on top and Diaz on bottom, see who wins that battle.

I agree, would love to see them roll but I don't see much of it, this will be a high paced exciting fight however.

Diaz's hands are faster, but BJ has more power in his hands than Diaz.

Yeah BJ has more one punch knockout power. Diaz throws a lot of 1/2 and 3/4 power punches to set up huge hooks to the head and body, more of a volume puncher and very accurate.

W/o a doubt.

BJ has fought:

-Fitch
-Hughes x3 (2-1)
-Edgar x2 (0-2)
-Sanchez
-Florian
-GSP x2 (0-2)
-Sherk
-Stevenson
-Pulver x2 (1-1)
-Renzo Gracie
-MACHIDA
-Gomi
-Serra
-Uno x2 (1-0-1)

Nick Diaz has not faced the same quality fighters:

-Daley
-Santos
-Noons (1-1)
-Sakurai
-Zaromskis
-Smith
-Shamrock
-Gomi (NC)
-Tibau
-Neer
-Sherk (UFC/loss)
-Riggs (UFC/loss)
-Sanchez (UFC/loss)
-Pariysan (UFC/loss)
-Lawler

So using mmath they have two common opponents: Sherk and Sanchez.

Diaz lost to both and BJ destroyed both.

Yeah I dont see this ending well for Diaz but Penn hasnt looked like the Penn of old. Both of these guys can be head cases who knows who will show up

BTW i didnt mean the quality of the fighters were close i meant their records as far as kos and submissions were pretty close

Don't say that to the Diaz nut huggers on here who truly believe he would have destroyed GSP.

I love watching Diaz, he is an exciting fighter, but until he proves it against top tier opponents, he is not on GSP's level, or even BJP.

I'm not a Diaz nut hugger by any means but I had a strange feeling he would beat GSP. We will probably never find out now though.
