Well, would it be for conspiracy or for the actual murder? They released Eli after the mistrial because he never admitted to anything. The other deputy was held because he had admitted to being involved in murdering Hans Schroeder.

My brother made a good point tonight. Jimmy signed his own death warrant when he went 0-2 on hits. He had his chance to knock both Nucky and the butcher out and missed.

Jimmy got sloppy. He was smart, but not smart enough. He was a brutal thug, that is it. When he was the underling of Nucky and the Commadore is when he thrived. Once he became the boss, it was all downhill. Jimmy was better off being a hired gun rather than the boss. He got too big for his britches.

Even 2 years, I don't know. But a longer sentence and Eli is certainly a risk to Nucky to cut a deal and start talking.

Pretty clear Jimmy was in over his head as a boss. He didn't really have the smarts or the leadership. Might be why he threw in the towel.
