No. Too expensive. Went to the Big Chill at the Big House last year in Ann Arbor, every seat was $15. No way would I pay those outlandish prices for a regular season college hockey game that are on Ticketmaster right now for the Frozen Diamond Classic. Ha too sit in the infield it costs about $50 a seat upper deck. Very dumb by the way to not put the rink on 2nd base

Women's basketball is #8 as well

The 4 major winter sports at OSU are all top 10, pretty impressive

Ohio State has done a nice job of upgrading the coaches in some sports that were sorely lacking for too many years, and we're seeing the results. An athletic program that has as good a financial backing as OSU should be performing better in the "lesser" sports.

For too many years, everything but football was mostly ignored. Hell, even basketball went through way too long of a dry spell because the AD didn't care enough to end the Eldon Miller era faster.

As for this year...I don't see this basketball team getting beyond the Sweet Sixteen at this point. Too many deficiencies. That might change by March, but it's going to take some strong improvement.

The wrestlers are very young. I'd say give them another year or so before they strongly challenge for an NCAA title. They will be in the top 10 this year, maybe even top 5, but unless they grow up really fast (possible) a title seems down the road a bit.

I have been taking all the sports from the NCAA website that way it's consistent for all of the OSU teams.

I could user intermat for wrestling or ap for basketball but I just decided to be consistent and use the NCAA rankings.

Those would be the RPI rankings. Not exactly what you want to use when talking about where a team is "ranked"

Why not? Isn't ranking a subjective action?

The reason I chose it was two-fold. It was easy to gain all three sports quickley and it was a consistent method for all three sports.

This isn't some scientific topic. It's just a place to put emphasis on the fact that all three team were very highly ranked nationally and it was of interest to follow their progress compared to each other throughout the year.

The RPI takes into consideration the respective team's winning percentage and the opponents winning percentage at the D1 level. It was an easy place to compare the sports teams against each other. That's all.

No it wasn't.

You chose a wrestling poll that is VOTED on. You chose a hockey poll that is VOTED on. And then you choose a basketball poll that is compiled by a computer.

And using the RPI when there are conferences who haven't started league play is just dumb.

I wasn't aware of that. Thank you for the input.

I guess as far as conferences not starting league play yet it won't really matter at the end of the season. It's fun to watch throughout the year.

By consistent I meant the same from week to week. You can use whatever poll you would like I started with those listed on the NCAA website and that's the only reason I continued to post those. It was quick and easy and it wouldn't have made any more sense to change the poll I was referencing now. I thought I would stay consistent. There's really no more to it than that.

Yikes. Didn't expect Illinois to better in both wrestling and basketball.

It's a long season though. We'll see if they can stay there.
