Kansas had to shoot out of their ass to beat a Sullinger"less" OSU. With Sully, OSU would beat this team by double digits. Never like to lose. But in the big picture, this game isn't going to hurt OSU.

Williams and Ravenel both played like garbage today. Defensively, on the glass, and getting loose balls underneath. If a ball got knocked away or was up for grabs, the only way Ohio State was coming up with it is if Craft grabbed it.

Not that it's surprising, but this team is going to be in a lot of trouble if either Craft of Sully get hurt or have foul trouble.

I didnt think it was possible, but I may over undervalued Sullinger. At least his importance to THIS team.

Jared is one heck of a player. I say this because he won a championship in middle school, AAU, and High School. I remember he sat out a game his sophomore year in high school and Northland still had a talented team without him. But they ended up losing without him in the tournament in almost similar fashion.

Ohio State should stay at #2 or #3 with this loss considering Duke is #5 and Ohio State beat Duke by 22 points and it wasn't even that close.

Sullinger is damn good. And being that good in the post, it causes teams to double down, which opens up so much more for the other players. Sullinger is also GREAT at passing out of that double to the open man. If you don't double him, he would score 30 easily. Even if he isn't scorinng or dominating, his presence opens up everything for the rest of this team. Thats what great players are about.

Would have liked to have only lost by about 5 but all in all I thought we played hard and wouldn't go away. With sully, there's no doubt in my mind we win that game. Hope he's good to go soon!!

Sullinger is so important to this team bc the offense runs through him and also the boards and low post presence on the defensive end.

No, I'm going to stick with Williams. The D from both post guys was terrible, both on the interior and help defense off of screens (you could throw Thomas in there too, but he did enough offensively to make up for it). They didn't show hard enough to stop the ball, but didn't stick with their men either. Too much dribble penetration off of ball screens resulting in open jump shots or dump offs into the post for easy baskets in my opinion. Just not gonna win many games when the other team shoots almost 60% and out rebounds you.

Williams and Ravenel did OK fighting on the offensive glass, but they combined for 3 defensive rebounds in 40 minutes of playing time. That's pitiful, no matter how well Kansas was shooting.

lol, I was just messing with ya', but IMO Williams gets a pass 'cause he's just a freshman, and really hasn't had a lot of pt...Sibert just hasn't improved

Yeah, Sibert's been disappointing. I was expecting more from him this year.

Williams will obviously get better, but for this season we're in deep shit if Sully doesn't play. I know T-Rob is a beast, but that was a bad effort defensively (and moreso Ravenel, which was disappointing).

Tough loss but kinda went the way I expected it without Sully.

Can't shoot under 40% and allow 60+% . Didn't make some switches off screens that led to some easy deuces, sign of being young. Buford was invisible the first half and Thomas was invisible the second. Effort was there and they scrapped hard but wasn't enough. Only disappointed in how poorly we guarded the three.

Hopefully Williams can use that experience this afternoon and improve. They could really use him to play a solid 8-10 minutes when they face teams with deep and talented front lines. I know there aren't many of those, but to win the ultimate prize they will need to get by some teams with some talented bigs.

I'm not disappointed at all.

OSU, playing their first TRUE road game against a GREAT talented team in KU, minus our best player and we put ourselves in a situation toward the end to have a legit shot to come away with it.

It was a 4 point game LATE despite KU shooting the lights out and OSU struggling.

And of course we're in deep shit if Sully can't play... You could say the same for UK minus Jones, UNC minus Barnes, etc...

Not hard to figure out there.

Also, OSU probably wins that game at home even without Sullinger. First road game of the year, without one of the countries best players, at one of the toughest places to play in the country. Never happy with a loss, but I thought they showed some toughness there today. They could have easily folded the tent multiple times in the 2nd half but kept fighting back.

The negative I saw is they desperately need another wing that can knock down a shot. Smith plays his role as a defender and energy guy, but has a long way to go as a shooter. Sibert played awful. Hopefully LaQ can come in and have an impact, but that is asking an awful lot of a freshman that missed that much time with the team.

OSU does need another wing or guard to knock down shots. As woo mentioned, hopefully Ross can come in and do that.

Kansas isn't a "great" team. Robinson is a great player, that's about it. Worst Kansas team in probably a decade in my opinion.

KU is ranked #13 in the country and playing at home.

I don't give a shit how good this team is compared to past KU teams. In terms of this season alone, KU is a great talented team.

Also, my "flyer" in that statement is TALENTED. KU has talent and I don't think anybody can dispute that.
