Yes! All the Kentucky fans at work have collectively shut up about Ohio State losing! Hell yes Indiana

Truth. By March, the cream of the crop rises to the top. Kentucky, North Carolina, OSU will be all be there.

Kentucky and OSU will both stay in the top 5. I could actually see UK staying #2 over Louisville.

Wow, they played really sloppy in the 1st, but tough D kept them in it/up by 1. Blowing TWO 10 pt leads was rough, and I thought it was over at that point, but the kids really fought. I havent seen the Hall rock like that since I was there and Marco dunked it over Paules and Duke in 2005.

Anthony Davis was taken completely out of the game by Zeller (via fouls) and Terrence Jones by himself (that was a pathetic effort). But God damn, Cody Zeller is really good. I wanted to ring the collective necks of our guards for not feeding him the ball the last 8 minutes. So frustrating. I dont know what September was looking at, he literally had TWO post touches in the last 10 minutes and dunked 1 and kicked the other out when he was double teamed.

Christian Watford played the best half of basketball I have ever seen him play. Really stepped up, culminating with a terrific shot to win it. Hulls cant be left open, and Cal knew it. Amazing gameplan to put Kidd-Gilchrest on him and use his height to take Jordy out of the game offensively, for the most part. Kidd-Gilchrest was a damn man as well. Easily the best player on the night for me. Teague for UK struggled big time first 25 minutes. Missing a wide open lay-up, etc. Clearly was pressing with the hometown crowd. Picked it up late and almost won it.

Oladipo and Sheehey continue to impress in their 2nd year (Oladipo with dunk of the year, so far, imo). But they dont back down at all.

As for Indiana moving forward. Its getting fun. The NCAAs are within reach, but they still need to collect themselves and not blow the momentum they currently have. But that was an absolute game changer of a win. Tons of recruits on hand (though not many open spots lol). Really announced this IU team is a serious threat to knock anyone off.

Ill say this, I thought IU would get near 20 wins this year, but never thought (until Watford hit the 3) they could win a game like this. Loved that they didnt back down and slow the pace.

OSU is lucky they get them on NYE when no students and no band will be in attendance.

And a Happy Hanukkah.

I was at my grandpa's house for an early Christmas family gathering -- we are a big basketball family -- and the entire place erupted into complete disorder when that shot fell through. And nobody in our family is an Indiana fan (mostly Duke and a few Ohio State followers). We must have rewound it and watched Kentucky lose eight times. I jumped out of my chair so fiercely I almost had a stroke and nearly knocked over the Christmas tree, which I admitted to everyone afterward was probably a big overreaction, but it was an incredible finish. This season will be hard pressed to find another ending as thrilling.

I think the rivalry is back.

Dickie V seemed to really like IU's class for next year, including Yogi Berra. :D . I think he forgot to re-read his notes.

Congrats on your team getting a great win, hopefully it wasnt ruined before you were able to watch it.

lol--lucky? settle down, Laley, let's not get ahead of ourselves...the next biggest game for IU will be on the 17th, and they need to make sure there's no Kentucky hangover

yeah man, lucky. Win or lose, blowout or not (I think OSU will blow them out by 15+) they are lucky they dont have to deal with that atmosphere. 8,000 students vs 1,000 students. Band vs no band. It will be 3x easier to to to Assembly Hall and win for OSU that game then if it was, January 6th.

haha, I didnt have it on mute, but wasnt paying any attention to Vitale or Shulman. Did he really say that? the kids name is Kevin "Yogi" Ferrel. Maybe it just sounded like Berra when he said Ferrel.

ok, I know you're still pumped, but no need to stutter-lol

It's too bad it's being played on their break, because I think the atmosphere would be great with the students, band, etc. there, and to be honest, I think the OSU players would love it. That being said, I posted on another thread that I felt that the IU game would be the toughest B1G game for the Buckeyes this season, and that was before you informed me that the it would be played in a mausoleum. Anyway, great win yesterday not only for IU, but for the B1G as well.

LOL come on..easy now. Assembly Hall will still be rocking and you know it. Its all relative. The crowd will be enough to give IU the energy it needs. Its not like the fans are worth 20pts or something! lol
And OSU will not beat IU by 15. This will be a tough game. IU is much improved. As evidence by last nite, they have the players capable of beating anyone on any given day. Consistantly? No. But this won't be the last upset for them this year.

I seriously doubt the IU faithful won't stop shucking corn to show up for this game. That place will be filled to the rafters, and loud lol.

This is what I posted yesterday about halfway through the game -- and I had said this before the game in basketball discussions on another board. OSU better be on their game when they go to IU.

You really went out on a limb there at half-time with Indiana leading by one. Lol. Multiple hand claps for you, sir.

I agree, though, I think Indiana has looked very good early on. I know Indiana is one of the super six blue bloods, but yesterday's victory over Kentucky was very much a program win. It just might have been the resurrection of Indiana Basketball.

Perhaps you missed the part where I said I posted it before the game on another site...but then you couldn't have gotten your weak ass slam in, right? And of course, top ranked teams never fall slightly behind at halftime only to come back and blast weaker teams in the second half, either, now do they?

Im lazy, so Im grouping this all in one lol.

No doubt it will be a sell out and loud and all that. But Ive been to games on break (played MSU with DJ/EJ/when we were top 15 and they were top 10. It gets loud, cause its Assembly Hall. But OSU coming in as a top 5 team would have been like yesterday if it was not over break, thats all Im saying. Im not saying it is worth 20 pts, Im not saying it will even affect the end outcome. But there is no doubt it will not be as raucous as it possibly could have been, which is a shame.

OSU isnt Kentucky, and they arent public enemy #2 (like UK is behind Purdue), but they would still bring quite the atmosphere out. The students at IU get 8k a game, which is about 45% of the building. Over break we will have none, unless the students buy them themselves which is usually about 1k. This game is not included in the package. You cant sit there and tell me the atmosphere wont be different without 7k (give or take) students there. They are much louder than the rest of the crowd, even for big games. I know OSU feels the direct result of more students at games and closer...it is the same principle.

Maybe the fact its NYE will have all the alumni more rowdy than usual!!!:D:D

A lot of people were talking about the hype around the game and the belief they could win etc. That was a step in the right direction even without a win. We knew the future looked bright. But the win catapulted it into another level in the sense that the return has a chance to be THIS year, not next. Cant say enough about how big landing Zeller was. Not only because he is damn good, but he was the recruit that gave the 2012/13/14 guys the confidence to verbal to IU as it was good enough for Cody, its good enough for them.

As some might say here, link?

And calm down.
