Ok we already know this season is a fraud and whoever wins the NCG will have a giant * by their name.

Anyway, what have we learned? We learned that if you want a BCS bowl bid or a NCG bid, lose to the best team in your conference, especially if they are in your own division. This way you don't have to risk injury and take another week of beating, or another potential loss and get a free pass into the NCG or a BCS bowl. It's all about strategically losing rather than settling things on the field(except this year because not every game counts).

If by strategically losing you mean, avoid the #1 team in the country and lose to 6-6 teams who lost six games by an average of over 20 points, I'm not sure how well that'd work.

OK ST isn't avoiding anyone. They'd love a shot at LSU, and they'd win, prove me wrong.

Well duh, who wouldn't like a shot at LSU? You have to take care of your own business first. When you can't handle craphole less than .500 teams who usually get pounded by 3 TDs when they play most decent teams, you can't just all of a sudden get handed a NC game. That is like a boxer getting beat up by a high school kid and bitching about not getting a shot at the world title.

Heck, the worst thing about this is that if Alabama wins, we won't get to see two titans clash for a third time like Ali-Frazier. Every fight doesn't have to be for the title, but the ones that are just end up being bigger/better than anything else you could put together.

Apparently this doesn't apply to Alabama, a team that had a chance to take care of business and missed 5 FGs. That's just great defense though. Only in the SEC are missed FGs considered great defense.

A fluke loss to the best around doesn't expose you as much as blowing a 17 point lead to a chump team that wouldn't even have a winning record without that stunning upset.

Future BCS stuff:

Future BCS title games:
2012: Bama vs. Florida
2013: Auburn vs. Florida
2014: Florida vs. LSU
2015: Bama vs. SEC team to be named at a later date.

Right, because those teams are clearly the best in the country and it doesn't matter what actually happens on the field. Just look at their roster!

No, it was a collapse of epic proportions that anyone wishing to be a champion would not have allowed to happen.

At least in that game they only missed 1 GW FG instead of 5. I guess anyone wishing to be a champion would have recruited a kicker that can make 1 of 5 FGs.

Yes, kickers have bastardized the game. Much like the forward pass.

You take away kickers and there wouldn't be any offense in the SEC.

Defense wins championships. Best offense is a good defense. Don't whiz on an electric defense.

'Good defense' is perpetuated by bad offense. Luckily, bad offense trumps good defense. If a QB can't complete a pass, who cares about how good the CBs are? I'm almost convinced you could put special Olympic athletes out there to cover Alabama's offense and they'd still only manage a couple of missed FGs.

And when you tell yourself these things, does it help you cope with your SEC issues?

If using logic, reason, and facts to dispel myths is "coping with my SEC issues", then yes.

So...real question for everyone upset about LSU/Alabama in a rematch for the BCS title.

If Oregon takes care of business against USC, and jumps to #2 after Oklahoma State chokes away the lead to Iowa State, and everything plays out the same...would you still be upset about having LSU and Oregon in a rematch for the title the same way you are upset about LSU and Alabama in a rematch?

Or is the gripe simply because they are two SEC teams?

Like I've said, if you can't win your own conference you don't deserve to play in the NCG. I'd be against the rematch of Oregon LSU especially if OK STwas in the same position they are now. If OKST was not in the picture with their accomplishments then go ahead with the rematch.

Oregon won their conference...but good try though.

I know your teams on your list are a joke, but LSU is pretty much a lock for next season. They have a better team with an easier schedule.

Did you not read my post? I'd be okay with a rematch assuming OK ST wasn't 11-1 with a B12 championship. A rematch should only be done if all other deserving teams are exhausted. I know you are just a comedian but try to keep up.

And we've seen that whether they beat or lose to Bama is irrelevant. LSU will throw the game next year just to avoid having to play an extra week. I don't blame them.

However, if they win the NC this year, they may not have that "edge" next season--and that may prove fatal in their run to repeat.
