The SEC has the single greatest advantage in college football....oversigning. You should be the best when you get 5 recruiting classes every 4 years.

Oversigning is the most egregious thing about college football and needs to be banned. I could care less about paying players, but destroying young men's lives is an all together other thing.

But you rarely here about it, and that's the most frustrating part. It's the proverbial elephant in the room.

Another frustrating this is the fact that there's no logical argument as to why it's allowed. There's nothing good about oversigning.

Who's going to expose it for what it is? Certainly not ESPN -- which has tens of millions of dollars invested in making sure the SEC and its network succeed. They have the biggest bully pulpit and they're only going to use it to shill for their own products -- and attack their competitors (the BTN and its teams).

ESPN did a special on oversigning, did they not?

I'd like to see a 60 Minutes-type report done on this, interviewing some of the hundreds of kids who were negatively affected by oversigning. Leave the sports networks out of it, and let's get the human element involved. Maybe that'd open some eyes.

I dont know what other SEC teams do, but LSU has been at 26 or under every year except one year, so that doesnt give them 5 recruiting classes every 4 years. And now, they got scholarship reductions so they cant go over a certain # of recruits. TM7 went to 2 camps (tenn and bama) and they didnt want him, so LSU gave him a offer. Sucks to be tenn and bama for passing him up.

All the "SEC wins too many national titles" is as bad as "Private Schools winning too many state titles!" whining. If this was the B10, 95% of the people who are pissing and moaning wouldn't say a fucking word aside from beating their chests about being the best and most dominant conference. They're better than you. Get over it.

LSU didnt get a feather in the hat for 1st team all american punter, lol. FSU's punter did. Here's the stats.

"Shawn Powell, FSU: 49 punts for a 47.0 yard avg.
FSU opponents had 18 punt returns for 143 yards / a 7.9 yard avg.
21 punts inside opp 20
21 punts 50+ yards
Longest punt: 69 yards

Brad Wing, LSU: 57 punts for a 43.8 yard avg.
LSU opponents had 17 punt returns for 6 yards / a 0.4 yard avg.
23 punts inside opp 20
18 punts 50+ yards
Longest punt: 73 yards "

Conferences don't win championships. And if they do, the B1G and B12 have more than the SEC. Enjoy!

Actually, having a better conference and playing a majority of your schedule against better competition helps the cream of those conferences reach the top and succeed in their goal by playing for national titles. In this year's example, two of their teams are better than every other team in every other conference. Enjoy that too.

Cool. Enjoy being 3rd best. Also, how does it feel to be a stepping stone?

The only thing I'm going to enjoy is another good game. I'm hoping to see more offense but I enjoy watching the best two teams play at the end of the year.

Yea I know, OKS wasnt good enough, like Houston and every other team you've been trumpeting for. Maybe next year though.

LSU's punter had to punt 8 more times than Fla St doesn't say much for LSU's offense. They got it right though the Fla St punter avg more yds, just because LSU's special teams cover kicks better than Fla St does doesn't mean he is a better punter.

It is truly amazing how much fans of SEC teams, love the whole SEC when their team is no good. As an Ohio State fan, I'll be damned if I ever root for UM, Wisconsin, PSU, or Nebraska to win the NCG. It's all a ploy to try to inflate the perception of their own team.
