The fact VT and Michigan are playing over Boise St vs Arkansas is absolutely sickening. Just like the fact two 6-6 teams are playing in the Gator Bowl on January 2nd. I know it's all about the money but we just need an 8 team playoff. I'd love to see LSU/Kansas St vs Stanford/Oregon and Alabama/Boise vs Ok State/Arkansas. Those would be some intense football games

This is nothing new. The B1G always plays up. And did I mention we are usually playing in other teams' own backyards?

Hopefully getting a 5-5 split. I want to say that Penn State can play a little defense and find a way to defend against Houston.

Arkansas - yes. I'm not sold on BSU though.

You are only using their head-to-head for that. Bottom line is MSU lost 3 games. I still don't think a team can complain about being left out after losing 3 games.

Who cares about irrelevant bowl games? There's fraud occurring in the one that matters and this is what you are mad about?

I hope Penn State drills Houston. USA Today has the graphic breakdown of hhow the coaches voted. Houston's coach left Penn State off of his ballot completely. I heard on another thread that he did it because of the scandal, not because of football related opinions. That is a pretty crappy thing to do if true. Those players deserve better.

I know not Big 10 related, but the NC game should be LSU-Okla State IMHO. I liked Ditka's question about if Alabama wins, will they play another time on a neutral field to settle who is #1.

Nebraska is the #4 B1G team and South Carolina is the #5 team in the SEC. Thats Nebraska as the ones "playing up" though right? Only team that has a legit argument on the "playing up" is Iowa. GTFO with the rest of that.

Nebrasks is 20th in the country and SC is #9 in the country. SEC fans always play games with their conference standing to make it appear to be even. Remember when Michigan beat Florida? People were saying Florida was SEC team #5 and Michigan was B1G #2. Joke.

Wisconsin, Va Tech, Nebraska, Michigan State, Penn State, Iowa... learn how to count / read numbers.

Plus, usually it's the Big Ten 5 playing the SEC 3 or the Big Ten 4 playing the PAC 10 2... something stupid like that

Did you just add Va Tech to the Big 10? I am confused...

Trying 2 play the B1G as such underdogs in their games is a joke and it just makes you sound dumb. Just stop.

I feel for Iowa. What a crap matchup. I'd bet the house on Houston -6 over Penn State, Ohio State +2 against Florida, and Nebraska +1 over South Carolina.

Iowa doesn't stand a chance. I like Northwestern +9.5 against Texas A&M, Nebraska +1 against South Carolina, and Wisconsin at +6 against Oregon.

They were undefeated at home up until that game, and I think Michigan was 1-1 on the road until that point and that game was in November, so that's a lot different than playing Oklahoma at a neutral site, but point taken.

One thing I forgot to take into account though, the best coach in the B1G(up until Urban anyway) will be on the Iowa sidelines. You can never count out a Kirk Ferentz-led team. I'm reversing my pick, Iowa with the upset.

That's the bottom line? That they lost three games? So if Michigan made the B1G Championship and lost...they'd be out? You're penalizing a team for making the conference championship game only to lose?

That is a joke.

Ummm, yeah, Michigan would have been out with 3 losses. That's not even a question. They had to have things work right to get in with 2 losses.

Losing 3 losses is the easiest way to keep yourself out of the BCS. Only 2 teams with 3 losses made it in the top 14 to be BCS eligible, and Baylor made it because of their SOS.

Georgia lost their conference championship, and they are ranked 16, with 3 conference teams ahead of them.

It's just retarded then. To knock a team for playing an additional game. Michigan didn't even get the chance to play in that game, they weren't good enough.

The system = horseshit. Neither Michigan or Virginia Tech are good enough to be in BCS bowl games.

100% agreed. Punishing teams after giving them a reward. For now on, Fuck it, refuse to play it and secure your spot in the BCS.
